Rico Love on Drake’s writing credits Says people would “kill Drake” over the names attached to his records without understanding what he was actually doing. If you were in the session and helped inspire the song, Drake made sure you got writing credit. “They took it as, oh you got 29 writers. I’m like no, he looking out for people that inspire.” He says Drake isn’t just in those rooms by accident. He intentionally surrounds himself with creatives who know how to write because he understands that, at the end of the day, music is a business. He compares it to early Kanye working alongside Rhymefest, Pusha, Q-Tip and Talib Kweli, arguing that collaborating with great writers doesn’t mean an artist can’t create or rap themselves. Then Rico Love says attacking artists for working with writers ultimately hurts the writers too, because it makes artists afraid to collaborate. “He is a businessman. This is the property. I don’t have to be the one who hammers every nail.” ( BagFuel )

Symba breaks down why he backed Kendrick while still being a Drake fan 👀 Symba says he “fucking studies Drake” and was still a huge fan of his during the beef, but explained that backing Kendrick was about standing behind one of his own during such a big moment. He says they wanted to be one of the platforms helping lift Kendrick up and push the music, especially if Akademiks or anybody else tried to say it wasn’t cool. “It wasn’t a personal attack on Drake. I fucking love Drake.”

Flagrant: “I wanted to hate but Drake is BACK — if you hate on this album you’re just a hater” “I want to hate, but Drake is back, bro… Drake is back. It’s heat, bro… Drake’s been on top for so long that it was just kind of fun for him not to be on top for a little bit… But he’s back. If you hate on this album, you’re just a hater. You’re a hater.” (via Flagrant Podcast)

Stat Quo speaks on the ONLY rapper who never switched up on Drake “There’s only one person in rap that I can say rolled with him the whole time: Game. Game rolled with him the whole time. He stood up next to a Canadian against my words of wisdom. I told him not to get involved… I told him not to do any of it. He listened to me, but he didn’t listen all the way — I woke up the next morning and he was dissing Rick Ross 😂 I love him, that’s my guy… but him and Drake are really real friends.” (via The 3rd Verse Podcast)

Max B is taking Drake over Kendrick 👀 “Drake and Kendrick. I’m taking Drake, man. I’m fucking with Drake. Drake’s new shit sounding good. I’m in the clubs with it.” Max says people played in Drake’s face and counted him out too early, but believes all Drake has to do is sit back and make his music. He even compared Drake’s comeback to Kobe Bryant silencing the noise by going out and winning two championships. And of course, Max B had to show love to Drake for name-dropping him too 😂 “Shout out to Drake.” “Teach me, baby… I’m in a deep sleep. That’s my shit.” 😭

DJ Hed speaks on The Game’s new “No Breaks” 👀 DJ Hed reveals that The Game sent him the record at 5AM and breaks down the confusion surrounding Drake’s name being attached to the song. Hed explains that The Game repeatedly uses “Drake” as a metaphor throughout the track, while the way the song was being reported made it seem like Drake was actually featured. He also points out the lyric where Game says he was asked to pick sides and chose “homicide,” before mentioning having “the Drake” on him. With people already posting different versions of the song, including one labelled “without Drake,” even DJ Hed admits he wasn’t sure which version he had.

Drake’s Iceman Was His “Recovery” One speaker admitted they initially couldn’t listen when their friend said, “Put that Iceman on and listen to what’s going on.” Their response: “Bro, I can’t. I can’t do it.” 😭 Weeks later, curiosity won. After listening, they praised Drake: “Dude ain’t as scared as they try to paint him to be.” What stood out was Drake making a club or dance record while still throwing “50 bars for no fucking reason” to remind people, “I’m nice with this shit.” They called Iceman a “statement piece” and said, “People don’t normally recover like that. That was a recovery.”

Ray Daniels says Jay-Z would be crazy to go head-to-head with Drake 😭 Ray Daniels argues that Drake is simply too big right now for Jay-Z to risk going at him, pointing to how quickly a rapper’s reputation can change once the culture starts viewing them as “played out.” “The general population doesn’t give a [expletive]… you can’t go on stage and brag against that kid in Canada.” He says Drake is already “selling more records than everybody” and warns that in today’s climate, one flop could completely change how an artist is viewed. “Just don’t flop. Hang on to your last record that sold three million records.” (Via The Danza Project )

Boosie expresses disappointment that other artists, whom he claims Drake helped throughout his career, did not defend or support him . He feels that since Drake consistently "boosted people's careers" and helped put money in their pockets, it was weak for them to "look the other way"

Birdman on how Drake saved Cash Money Records: ‘First of all, nobody got money from Drake for 10 years… The money gotta sit in escrow.’ ‘Whatever Drake want, he gets. I don’t give a fuck what it is.’ ‘He a real stand up nigga… Without him, it would’ve been over!’ Drake put the whole label on his back 🦉👑
