INSIDE the dinner designed to thank people/companies who gave $ for White House ballroom: Guest list included Nvidia's Ned Finkle, OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman, Extremity Care’s Oliver Burckhardt, Boxabl's Paolo Tiramani, Apple executive Nick Ammann, Coinbase's Kara Calvert, sources told CBS News. After a meal of tomato salad, Beef Wellington, and butterscotch ice cream with a pear jam-filled meringue, donors "mobbed" Trump, seeking a quick conversation or a cellphone photo. Meanwhile, over in Congress, Dem Mark Takano is introducing a couple messaging bills aimed at blocking construction from proceeding while federal workers go without pay during shutdown, and a "NOT FOR SALE Act" to prevent donors' names from being recognized inside the White House. Asked how he defines socialism, Vice President JD Vance Vance says: "I don't know what the term means anymore. I think in reality, what it actually means in the American context is that you want to replace American workers with foreign workers, and you want boys to play in girls' sports."

Microsoft has abused the US visa program, Vice President JD Vance Vance says. "You bring in indentured servants from outside the country, you lay off American workers, and if you're a corporation, you make a ton of money by undercutting the wages of American workers, replacing them with people who, frankly, shouldn't be in the United States of America to begin with," he said. Vance called for Congress to reform H1B program.

Trump tells me he has had conversations with Iranian officials in the last few days and he plans more. "We have a lot of very big, very powerful ships sailing to Iran right now. And it would be great if we didn't have to use them. I told them two things; Number one no nuclear. And number two stop killing protesters. ... They're going to have to do something." He was on red carpet for "Melania" film premier.

Republican Lindsey Graham tells me Trump's speech in Davos convinced him the US needs to control Greenland. "We're not going to take Greenland by force, but we need Greenland for very good reasons. If I were Denmark, I would be thinking, if I can work a deal with America and the Greenland people -- we have no desire to change your culture, we have no dtesire to change who you are -- we do need ownership. He's convinced me that if we own this piece of land," he said in World Economic Forum.
