Alex Caruso, asked if the Spurs feel like a problem that needs to be solved: “There’s nothing that needs to be solved. We could’ve won the game tonight. You would’ve been asking them the same thing. I don’t think there’s this narrative that this is a bugaboo. We should’ve played better and won the game and been in the NBA Finals. They’re a good team, they’re young. (We’ll) both probably be around for a while. But we’ve gotta get better and try and win next time.”

Caleb Wilson says he’s taking 2k-2,500 shots everyday. Says he’s not changing anything mechanically. “You get more confidence putting in the work.” At UNC: “I didn’t really have the time. Had to go to class. That’s what’s good about the NBA, it’s just your job.”

SGA noted that OKC “needs Chet.” Asked about his conversations with Holmgren after the series, if they’ll talk about his approach to the summer: “I haven’t talked to Chet about that. I won’t. I don’t feel like I need to. I didn’t perform my greatest this series either. Chet won’t come to me with a development for the summer, you know? Chet knows how much I care about this game. I know how much Chet loves this game. … he’s going to be a better player because of his make-up, his talent. I don’t need to umbrella Chet. He’ll figure it out.”

Vooch called Bulls soft in walk-off. Afterward: “We just didn’t play up to NBA standards.” Addressed the team postgame and said “I don’t think we understand that it’s just not sustainable to play this way.” What’s most upsetting? “It’s things that we can really control.”

Matas Buzelis on his patience as a young player trying to win, the difficulty of last year “Last year was hard. There was no type of rhythm. We didn’t know who was playing. We didn’t know how we’re gonna play. Now there’s gonna be more structure, everyone’s in a role. You know what you get every night.”

Nikola Vucevic, the Boston Celtic, checking in. Weird stuff. Told me the morning he got traded in Milwaukee he was ready to come off the bench if need be at his next stop. Here he is, talking shop with Jaylen Brown and giving a cheeky wave to the Bulls bench.

Asked why he played today when other high draftees have sat, Wilson says “I feel like I’m different than all of them. Not to say they don’t, but I enjoy basketball. I love this shit. I’m going to play as much as I can. Is he disappointed that Peterson/Dybantsa didn’t play? “I felt yesterday was weird because I expected Darryn to play. So when I came into the game, I didn’t have the right mindset.”

Caleb Wilson on his early impressions of Tiago Splitter “First, he has a big accent. He’s really detailed. And he’s pretty serious. You have coaches that are joking around and stuff like that, Tiago’s pretty serious. He knows what he wants, he wants it now.”

Tyrese Halliburton said SGA is the “MVP, no question.” “I grew up in an era where the best player on the best team wins MVP every time. I think our era is kind of getting away from that a little bit, which is fine, because, I think Jokic and those guys are warranted when they win. But I think you take away them having the best record, he would still be the MVP, and then you throw on the fact that he has the best record, he kind of makes it an easy decision. “I don’t have a vote, but if you took a player poll, I’m sure he would win.”

Loaded postgame from Jaden Ivey, who thinks tonight was his first DNP of his career. Said it doesn’t change his character and that he’s here to “do his job, glorify God.” Asked if he thought this was a possibility, he says “going into it, you gotta look at who’s on the roster. … getting traded, that’s what happens in the NBA.” Says he’ll be ready when his name is called.

Coby White on his year-long calf issues and playing 30 mins in his last Bulls game before MRI with Hornets revealed a strain “Everybody can have their opinions, but I feel like the medical staff always had my best interest (in Chicago). If I would’ve never got traded, I probably would’ve never said anything about it, just because I thought it was just tightness. I didn’t know, they (the Bulls) didn’t know, that it was a calf strain. It was nobody’s fault. It was never hindering me from playing. Not like I felt it in my right one, my right one I knew I strained.”
