For far too long, sanctuary cities across the nation – including Houston as of last week’s misguided City Council vote – have sidestepped federal immigration law & created safe havens for dangerous illegal aliens, putting the safety & security of Americans at risk & undermining the rule of law. I’m proud to introduce the Sanctuary City Elimination Act, which would ensure local & state law enforcement coordinate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers and ban certain federal funds from going to sanctuary cities. This commonsense legislation would also allow victims of criminal illegal aliens who are released from sanctuary jurisdictions & reoffend in other states to seek justice in court.

Trump Derangement Syndrome causes Democrats to choose the wrong side of every issue on every occasion. Now that Chuck Schumer and the Democrats have shut down the government, we’re seeing what they were trying to hide. Programs like food stamps are being abused and blue state governors are helping illegal immigrants access benefits that they’re not entitled to under federal law. When President Trump tried to require states to verify immigration status for SNAP recipients, liberal Attorneys General actually sued to stop him. Think about that they sued to protect illegal benefits. Texans shouldn’t have to pay for that. As your Senator, I’m fighting to make sure your tax dollars aren’t sent to blue states that break the law and reward illegal immigration. It’s time for accountability and common sense.

The liberal media wants you to believe that the SAVE America Act will prevent 21 million Americans who don't have the proper documents from registering to vote. This claim is RIDICULOUS. We have voter ID in Texas & have options in place for people who don't have IDs. The only reason to oppose voter ID is to make it easier to CHEAT & the Democrats know that.

In a hearing about ending sanctuary cities that have resulted in the murder of Americans, Sen. Durbin decides to attack me for not supporting the failed Gang of Eight immigration bill 13 years ago. I’m proud that I didn’t support it. It was bad policy that would’ve made our broken immigration system worse. But what an insult for him to do that in front of his constituent, an Illinois father whose daughter was killed in a hit-and-run by a drunk illegal alien – all while he refuses to fund ICE & supported the very open-border policies that resulted in this tragedy.
