🤩 WATCH Christiane Amanpour Christiane Amanpour dismantle Michael Gove Brexit boosterism in less than 40 seconds. Laura K: “Christiane says Brexit damaged Britain’s standing internationally.” Gove: “I profoundly disagree…. Christiane folds her arms… and immediately replies: 🔥 Fishermen 🔥 Farmers 🔥 Trade… Sunny uplands… AND Gove calling ELMS “world leading” is a total joke for British farmers. The shift from CAP to ELMs has brought complexity, uncertainty, delayed payments, and reduced income for too many businesses, all while facing rising costs and more imports. Brexit was sold as a chance to do better for British farming. The reality has been a difficult transition with mixed results at best. We need long-term, stable support that works for food production and the environment, not more spin. Back British farmers properly.

🚨 Christiane Amanpour Christiane Amanpour on Brexit Britain 🇬🇧 “For the last 10 years it’s been anything but an island of stability. Brexit unleashed a huge amount of ruction… It has diminished Britain’s standing in the world.” Confirming what allies, investors and businesses have been saying for years. Brexit damaged our economy and Britain’s reputation across the world.

🚨 Spot on from Christiane Amanpour on Jenrick’s defence of Farage. ‘Blame the media is always not a good tactic.’ “It’s not a great look for any politician saying they’re here to help people suffering financial hardship while allegedly receiving millions in undisclosed benefits.” Compares it to Trump/crypto enrichment where ordinary investors lost huge. #bbclaurak #TrevorPhillips 👀 👇

🚨 Neil Kinnock is absolutely 💯 bang on 👍 “The only patriotic thing to do is to get us back into the European Union.” His argument is simple. If patriotism means doing what is in the long-term national interest, not just waving the flag, then Britain should seek the closest possible relationship with the EU. For Kinnock, loving your country means improving its prosperity, security and opportunities for future generations.

🔥 It has taken years, but Laura Kuenssberg finally devotes nearly a full minute to the questions surrounding Nigel Farage’s funding and financial arrangements. The BBC even uses archive footage of Farage alongside his former deputy, Nathan Gill, who has now been convicted of accepting bribes. It’s a sign of how seriously these questions are now being treated. #bbclaurak #TrevorPhillips #Farage

👏 Piers Morgan on fine form, calls it straight: “Brexit has been a pretty well unmitigated disaster.” It triggered the political chaos that’s given us seven Prime Ministers in ten years He pins primary responsibility on Nigel Farage, the “snake oil salesman” who sold impossible promises. Morgan’s advice for Andy Burnham. Call a referendum to rejoin the EU. He believes it would be a landslide because the country now knows the truth

‼️ Reports of Starmer’s anger - threatening to resign his own seat to create chaos for a Burnham suggests a mix of arrogance (refusing to accept the writing on the wall) and vindictiveness (wanting to damage the party or successor rather than facilitate a smooth transition). It’s not the behaviour of someone putting country or party first at a moment of crisis. It risks making the exit even messier and further damaging Labour’s reputation. The country needs a clean, orderly transition. Andy Burnham has the mandate from Makerfield to deliver real change. No more drama. Time to move forward for the country.

🚨 Laura Kuenssberg to Robert Jenrick: “Your message is all about working people… but allegations about Nigel Farage’s finances keep coming up.” She highlights: • the reported £5 million gift under parliamentary scrutiny • £270,000 for 12 hours’ work • the tension with Reform’s claim to be the party of working people Robert Jenrick pivots to opinion polls (Reform are on 25%). Reform is happy to cite opinion polls when they show electoral support, yet dismiss polling showing a clear majority of voters now favour a closer relationship with and rejoining the EU! #bbclaurak #Farage #ReformUK

🚨 CNN sums up Britain’s lost decade thanks to Brexit Six PM’s in ten years. Years of instability. A fractured electorate. And in Hasting, a town that voted Leave, fishermen describing Brexit as a “failure” because of more paperwork, harder exports and broken promises. The most telling line came from a Leave voter: “I think I would have voted differently if I’d known what it is today.” Britain wasn’t broken by one event alone, but Brexit has been the defining political and economic force of the last decade. Polls: up to 2/3 now say it was a mistake. Sovereignty delivered. Economic delivery? Still waiting.

Former MI6 chief Sir Alex Younger on Brexit: “Putin would have been absolutely delighted by our decision.” “So would Xi. France has effectively eclipsed us. Brexit has marginalised us.” Most striking of all: “Just nobody mentions the UK.” Very sad that Sir Alex Younger, chief of the Secret Intelligence Service, born on July 4, 1963, died of pancreatic cancer on June 2, 2026, aged 62

🔵 John Major on the Brexit leaders (Cummings, Johnson, Gove, Farage): “Michael Gove said after we leave, we will hold all the cards. The only cards they held were P45s for people who lost their jobs.” “Owen Paterson said nobody was thinking of leaving the Single Market. Really? How extraordinary.” “Many claimed to be devoted to Margaret Thatcher’s policies. They took us out.” On Farage: “Primary responsibility… damaged our country very significantly.”

🚨 ✅ Bridget Phillipson make a good point on Andy Burnham (responding to McSweeney’s claim Labour wasn’t ready to govern after 4 years): “Andy Burnham has been in Cabinet previously. He’s held a number of roles. He’s been an MP before. He actually has more experience of governing than many of us did when we entered government for the very first time as ministers in 2024.” Unlike Andy Burnham, who has real Cabinet and parliamentary experience, neither Starmer nor McSweeney had ever held office while Labour were in power. Starmer then sacked Sue Gray, the one senior figure who actually knew how government worked and their attempt to rule with iron fist failed spectacularly. The inexperience at the top has been glaring.

John Major: “Who are the gainers from having left? I don’t hear the Brexiteers talking much about Brexit these days because they know in their heart that it has failed to deliver what they promised… The losers are every wallet, every purse and every balance sheet in the country.” After 10 years, even a former Tory PM is saying what the data shows: Brexit failed.

Trump says the decision to bomb Iran came after advice from Jared Kushner, Steve Witkoff and Pete Hegseth. A real estate developer. A television host. And the president’s son-in-law. Not intelligence chiefs. Not military command. The Middle East 🔥 and the global economy now lives with the consequences of that advice.

🚨 Financial Times’ Katie Martin delivers a sobering verdict on Brexit. On referendum night, sterling collapsed from around $1.50 to $1.20. “It has never recovered.” Her conclusion? That tells you how international investors now view the UK. Foreign capital is harder to attract, government borrowing is hugely more expensive, and Britain has diverged from stronger-performing economies. The good news? She says the best hope for reversing the trend is a meaningful rapprochement with Europe. Only rebuilding our relationship with Europe can reverse the decline.

🚨 You have to watch Matthew Elliott get busted 🔥 on Brexit When Channel 4 points out that the NHS was already receiving the extra money in 2019 before Britain 🇬🇧 had left the EU, the central logic of the £350m bus claim starts to unravel. If the money could be found without leaving the EU, Brexit wasn’t what made it possible. Watch his response. He squeals with discomfort.

🚨 This was the moment Jeremy Hunt had no answer. Mehdi Hasan “The two biggest hits to UK growth in the last 10–15 years were brought about by Tory governments: austerity and Brexit.” Sir Jeremy Hunt MP “Covid, the global financial crisis, Ukraine?” Mehdi: “They were global issues. I’m talking about ones we did to ourselves.” That’s the point. Britain cannot keep blaming the world for wounds it inflicted on itself. #Newsnight #Brexit

🚨 Neil Kinnock lays out the scale of Brexit’s damage. • GDP 6–8% lower than it otherwise would have been. • Tens of billions less in public revenue for the NHS, schools and other services. • Business investment down. • Trade with the EU hit, with thousands of SMEs giving up exporting bc of the cost/bureaucracy. “The damage goes on… and it won’t stop until we’ve got an entirely different relationship.” ✅ Kinnock is right to call for Britain to apply to rejoin the European Union. How much longer can Britain afford the economic cost of Brexit?

🚨 ALASTAIR CAMPBELL on Bloomberg with Jacob Rees-Mogg cuts through the noise: A rejoin referendum likely won’t happen anytime soon because while Nigel Farage and Reform remain influential, the EU simply won’t have us back. “While we’ve got the prospect of people like Jacob getting into bed with people like Nigel Farage… the EU’s not going to think about having us back.” Brutal but accurate. Farage’s chaos is the biggest barrier to fixing Brexit. Rees-Mogg admits the Leave campaign was chaotic, different people promised different things, no coherent plan, and the government implementing it (Theresa May, a Remainer) didn’t believe in it. Classic Brexit: sold with lies, delivered with confusion. Ten years on, the division Brexit created inside the Tory party helped birth Reform and now it’s blocking the very reset or rejoin that a growing majority of the public wants. Brexit broke British politics. Fixing it means moving past the Farage era.
