🚨 “The British public is susceptible to imported eggs which are mostly used in the hospitality industry.” Food safety expert Sterling Crew on Times Radio explaining why the British Lion mark matters. This is the problem. In a supermarket you can look for the Lion and choose British eggs. In a café, restaurant, hotel, sandwich, cake or ready meal 👉do you know where the egg came from or how the laying hen was kept? Price drives procurement. The customer often has no idea. After Brexit opened Britain to greater competition from imported food produced to different standards, country-of-origin and production-method labelling in hospitality matters more than ever. If British farmers are expected to meet high standards, consumers should at least be told when the food they’re eating doesn’t.

🔥 🔥 WATCH 👀 This is dynamite from former Clacton MP Charles Watling. “I said about 14 years ago that Nigel Farage was the most dangerous man in British politics, and he has proved to be so.” Watling then points to the extraordinary irony: Farage spent years campaigning for Brexit, taking Britain out of European asylum arrangements and now uses the Channel crossings crisis as political fuel. Create the problem. Campaign on the consequences.

🚨 BOOKMARK THIS clip for the next time someone tells you “Brexit was never properly implemented”. Nigel Farage on Question Time in 2016 explaining what Brexit would actually mean. End EU free movement. ✅ Britain controls who comes here. ✅ Australian-style immigration system. ✅ Open Britain to people from the Commonwealth and elsewhere rather than preferential EU migration. ✅ He said this would relieve pressure on GPs, schools and housing and improve our quality of life. Brexit happened. Those immigration powers came back to Westminster. Migration subsequently shifted dramatically from Europe towards the rest of the world. You can’t simultaneously claim Brexit wasn’t implemented and complain about the consequences of the immigration system Brexit enabled. 👀 The question isn’t whether Brexit was implemented. It’s whether what Farage promised Brexit would achieve actually worked.

🚨 ALASTAIR CAMPBELL 👏 Well said! “History will say the three key drivers of Brexit were David Cameron, Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage.” “Nigel Farage helped inflict the very thing that has weakened our economy, weakened our standing in the world and damaged our confidence. The fact some people now think he should be Prime Minister is a form of madness.”

🚨 So Nigel Farage hopes to win a by election in Clacton and escape scrutiny. Apparently the standards investigation does not automatically die. According to paragraph 40 of the Procedural Protocol to the MPs’ Code of Conduct: • The investigation would be suspended while he is no longer an MP. • If he wins the by-election and returns to Parliament, the investigation resumes. • Even if he loses, it could still be resumed. • The by-election result might influence any eventual sanction or rectification. This means a “chicken run” is not a clean escape. The donor scrutiny (Harborne £5m + Cottrell benefits) could still hang over him if he returns.

Trump says the decision to bomb Iran came after advice from Jared Kushner, Steve Witkoff and Pete Hegseth. A real estate developer. A television host. And the president’s son-in-law. Not intelligence chiefs. Not military command. The Middle East 🔥 and the global economy now lives with the consequences of that advice.

🇨🇦 “Canada, since Mark Carney became Prime Minister, has outperformed everyone in America, the Eurozone and anywhere else in the world.” Matt Winkler, Bloomberg News Editor-in-Chief Emeritus. Falling inflation, surging investment and according to Bloomberg, the most investment flowing into Canada in a century. Perhaps serious, economically literate government isn’t quite as unfashionable as the populists would have us believe.

🤣😆😂 Charles Watling, former Clacton MP, says the other parties pulled a blinder by staying out of this ridiculous by-election. Far from feeling mocked, he says the overriding emotion he encounter/ among Clacton voters is amusement. Farage wanted a great battle with the establishment. Instead, he got Count Binface, a ballot paper full of extraordinary candidates and a country laughing at the spectacle. 🗑️🤣 #ClactonElection

🇬🇧 There was something deeply ironic about the final moments of #BBCLauraK today. 🇬🇧 Britain broke from Europe with Brexit, a rupture with strange historical echoes of Henry VIII’s break with Rome. And today, the Catholic Archbishop of Westminster reminded us of “the value of the human person”. Of humanity. Families. The homeless. Our responsibility to each other. I am not a Catholic, but I went to a convent school until I was 13. I was educated in these values, they are familiar to me and comforting and above all grounding. And now Britain is about to have its first Catholic PM Andy Burnham In the last decade or so, we have lost sight of some of the most basic truths 👉Geography. Humanity. Honesty. Values. 🔥 Brexit taught us to deny our geography. 🔥 Populism taught us to divide people. 🔥 UK decided to live with dishonesty and lost sight of the value of the human person. My hopes now rest on Andy Burnham bringing those values back to government and Britain back to its rightful place in Europe and the world. People first. Place first. Humanity first. This is the change of direction Britain and Europe desperately needs.

‼️ Reports of Starmer’s anger - threatening to resign his own seat to create chaos for a Burnham suggests a mix of arrogance (refusing to accept the writing on the wall) and vindictiveness (wanting to damage the party or successor rather than facilitate a smooth transition). It’s not the behaviour of someone putting country or party first at a moment of crisis. It risks making the exit even messier and further damaging Labour’s reputation. The country needs a clean, orderly transition. Andy Burnham has the mandate from Makerfield to deliver real change. No more drama. Time to move forward for the country.

This is dark Pope Leo XIV warns the post-WWII rule that bans invading other countries is being destroyed. While Keir Starmer stays silent and sucks up to Trump, even the Vatican is saying it out loud: might is replacing law and that puts everyone at risk. ⚠️

😹 😆 😹 Robert Jenrick says a Farage victory in Clacton would send a “powerful signal”. Tim Stanley wasn’t convinced: “So the message to the wider electorate is… Farage can beat a field of one talking bin?” Robert Jenrick: “Nigel Farage had the courage to put himself up for a by-election, which very few people do in politics.” Tim Stanley: “Well, you didn’t.” Jenrick: “Well… quite.” Sometimes the best interview moments need no commentary. 🤣

🤣 Count Binface declares checkmate with Nige “If Nigel strikes me down electorally, I will become more powerful than he can possibly imagine. Because of course, then yes, the parliamentary committee will look into again his interesting finances … for example, this 5 million pound unconditional gift he was given…”

🚨 This was the moment Jeremy Hunt had no answer. Mehdi Hasan “The two biggest hits to UK growth in the last 10–15 years were brought about by Tory governments: austerity and Brexit.” Sir Jeremy Hunt MP “Covid, the global financial crisis, Ukraine?” Mehdi: “They were global issues. I’m talking about ones we did to ourselves.” That’s the point. Britain cannot keep blaming the world for wounds it inflicted on itself. #Newsnight #Brexit

🚨 BBC News: Farage: “I bought the £1.4m house with my I’m a Celeb money.” Corporate accounts show the fee was still in the company after the purchase. Same week he’s under inquiry for the £5m Thai crypto Brexit bung. The stories keep changing but the smell doesn’t.

🇺🇸 v 🇪🇺 food Listen to what this American says about what a US trade deal really means for our food and health. While talking about “reset” with Europe… Starmer’s government is opening the door to US 🇺🇸 standards. That’s how they’re trying to make Brexit work.

Former MI6 chief, Sir Alex Younger gives some Brexit truths. “Putin would’ve been absolutely delighted by our decision (to leave the EU) and so would Xi.” “Particularly since I've left office and I've travelled around Europe, I'm profoundly depressed. “Just nobody mentions the UK. We've made ourselves irrelevant. And this is extraordinary. The beginning part of this century, we were the dominant force. France has effectively eclipsed us and you just don't hear a discussion of us.” “I think Brexit has Brexit has marginalised us. It was kind of intended to do exactly that.”
