OVERDOSE AWARENESS: In the last 24 hours, the MNPD has responded to 6 fatal overdoses. All from different areas and from different drugs. Yesterday, Neighborhood Safety Unit Sergeant Anthony Cucci and partnering Metro agencies distributed 300+ overdose reversal kits to affected neighborhoods. PLEASE ‼️ be cautious - NEVER ever assume you truly know what is in street drugs. It only takes a small amount of fentanyl to become deadly to users. Naloxone is available and free at the NashvilleHealth. There are also 428 locations countywide equipped with ONEboxes that each contain 2 doses of Narcan. Quick action can save a life. An international THANK YOU at MNPD HQ today as Chief Drake & Officer Peter Kinsey expressed their sincere gratitude to Kent Police (UK) Sgt. Taylor Johanson. The British officer had just arrived in Nashville when he saw Kinsey in a fight & in trouble at I-440 & West End.

Shown was Riley's brief exchange of greetings w/ Officer Reginald Young on Gay St., south of the Woodland St. Bridge, on the night of 3/8. Riley did not appear distressed. Officer Young was there on a vehicle burglary call & remained on that portion of Gay St. for 45 min.

Kevin D. Haynes, 26, wanted on a statutory rape indictment, took off running into an East Nashville neighborhood Sun night after officers spotted him in a parking lot. Haynes quickly learned that a trash can is not a good place to hide when there's an MNPD helicopter with a thermal camera above.

SCAM WARNING ⚠️: Be VERY careful when searching for your next place to live! The MNPD Fraud Unit has received more than 200 reports this year for fake housing listings through secondary websites like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, etc. Victims have lost thousands after scammers sent over leases & access codes that appeared legitimate, but were NOT. The worst part? You will most likely not be able to recover that money if it has been digitally transferred to a scammer. What can you do to prevent this? Fraud Unit Sgt. Clinton Schroeder recommends you Google the address and see if there are multiple postings for the rental. Make sure the contact info MATCHES on all the listings. Chief John Drake today announced the MNPD will launch a Drone as First Responder limited trial next Tue with 3 drones based on the roof of the Madison Precinct. They'll respond to emergency calls within a 2 mile radius of the precinct building & will be controlled from HQ.
