What makes you risk your life so recklessly? Do you really need Uganda Police Force to remind you that your life is in danger? Absolutely not! So why engage in such dangerous behavior if you're not ready to face the consequences? In Mpigi, drivers attempted to flee after being intercepted by police @ Lungala —thanks to concerned road users who provided video evidence & information. Both the drivers & passengers involved have been charged & the vehicles were impounded @Mpigipolice. We urge the public to always prioritize road safety.

This evening i witnessed a near nasty crash at Bulanga on the Iganga-Mayuge road where a premio following us from behind attempted to overtake without checking ahead for oncoming traffic, forcing it to swerve into a trench to avoid a head-on collusion with an oncoming trailer. Fortunately, no one was injured. Please think twice before overtaking ! It's better to arrive late than risk your life.

Sometimes we lose our temper because we are trying to save your life. Traffic officers may sometimes appear harsh, impatient or angry while enforcing the law. But there is a side of traffic policing that is not always visible. Every day we stand on the roads and confront motorists, boda boda riders, pedestrians and passengers who sometimes make decisions that can cost them their lives. We stop speeding drivers, prevent dangerous overtaking, stop overloaded vehicles, challenge drunk drivers and insist that people comply with safety rules. Sometimes we raise our voices. Sometimes we become firm. Sometimes, we lose our temper. It is not because we hate you. It is because we don't want to attend to your crash scene tomorrow. If a traffic officer stops you from making that dangerous decision and you become angry, remember: that officer may have just saved your life. If we stop you from carrying passengers dangerously, remember: we are thinking about the lives you are carrying, not just the offence you have committed. If we insist that you slow down, wear a helmet, fasten a seat belt, produce a valid licence or stop driving under the influence, it is because no journey is more important than the life you are risking. So, when you see a traffic officer becoming firm on the road, don't always interpret it as harassment. Sometimes, the urgency in our voice is the urgency of trying to keep you alive. We would rather you get angry with us today and reach home alive, than have us remain polite while you make a decision that takes your life. Traffic enforcement is not about winning arguments. It is about saving lives. Have a blessed Day Uganda Police Force Kituuma Rusoke
