Any man who makes it his business to complain about age of consent laws is normally a deeply revolting individual. There was only degradation and corruption in the west forty years ago as well. What happened was that the Gorbachev-Yeltsin clique carried through a counter revolution so that they could act as imperialisms chosen men in Russia. What the Russian bourgeois leaders found out though was that the mere existence of Russia as anything other than a servile vassal ruled over by a corrupt, depraved drunkard was unacceptable to the US, British, French and German imperialists. That it took the leaders of bourgeois Russia 34 years and millions of deaths to work out this simple truth, that was always obvious to those with eyes to see it, is the real tragedy here.

An update from the streets of Glasgow. Today Police Scotland arrested long-time peace activist Sean Clerkin for holding a sign entitled "No To Genocide We Need Action for Palestine now!" For a small demonstration of 15 people ten cops turned out. Funnily enough we were only two blocks away from a notorious crack dealing hot-spot where police action is non-existent.
