FLASH: The Honorable Minister of Works, Senator David Nweze Umahi today launched the COASTAL HIGHWAY GUARDS, starting with 40 officers, these personnel will be in charge of: - Maintaining presence on the highway - Report suspicious activities - Restrict Hawking on the Coastal Highway - Report and Monitor any form of vandalism - Restrict Keke or Okada on the Coastal Highway - Restrict loitering on the Coastal Highway The team is led by Rtd Gen. LAGOS FLOOD UPDATE !!!! Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat and other Senior State and Local Government officials today visited different areas in Eti Osa and Ibeju Lekki Local Government Areas where all the overflow from the heavy rainfall goes through to the Lagoon and other channels. Mr Governor started the journey from Ogombo area, where all the water flows into the Ikota River. He visited the Monastery Road, Sangotedo. Mr Governor also visited the Gbetu, Iwerekun Community at the back of Mayfair Garden Estate, where work is already ongoing but other upgraded infrastructure is needed. Finally Mr Governor visited the Chevron axis where a channel that was blocked is now open to resolve flood issues around Ajiran, Osapa London, Orchid, VGC and other areas. Some of the functionalities of the Agege Fresh food Hub: • 4,000 sqm trading floor • Space for approximately 350 – 400 traders • 800MT dry storage capacity • Approximately 300MT cold storage capacity • Expanded, purpose-built seafood section • Parking for approximately 80 – 90 vehicles • 10 EV charging points The Agege Fresh food Hub brings farmers, aggregators, bulk dealers, retailers, institutional buyers and consumers into a more organised platform of exchange, supported by systems for produce receiving, quality control, storage, inventory management, sanitation and waste reduction. This is part of Lagos State's wider hub-and-spoke food distribution network, designed to improve how food moves from producers to the people who consume it.
