We’re building Mumbai’s biggest and coolest under-the-flyover park! 🙌🤾♀️🌿🌲 Delighted to share that this month we’ve begun work on this dream project beneath the Gokhale Flyover on N. S. Phadke Marg — fulfilling a promise I had made to Andherikars when we reclaimed this neglected space for Andherikars. This area had become a dumping ground for abandoned vehicles, junk & debris. Residents also flagged the site as a growing nuisance & a potential fire safety hazard. Acting swiftly, we ensured the space was cleared & reclaimed within 48 hours. But reclaiming the land was only the first step. Over the past few months, we’ve maintained and secured the site, while we persistently pursued the funding proposal at various levels within the goverment to secure the necessary approvals & funding for its complete transformation. I’m extremely happy to share we’ve now secured the necessary funding & work on this project has officially been inaugurated. This has been a dream project of mine. We envision creating a vibrant, well-equipped recreational and sports destination for all age groups. The park will feature: 🌳 Botanical Garden 🛹 Skate Park 🏀 Half Basketball Court 🏏 Cricket Turf 🧗 Bouldering Area 💪 Open Gym 🛝 Kids’ Play Area 📚 Study Space 🪑 Seating Areas 🏥 HBT Dispensary 🚻 Public Toilets …and much more. I have no doubt that this space will become a tremendous asset for residents on both sides of N. S. Phadke Marg and Andheri as a whole for many years to come. This project is also part of a larger commitment. Across Andheri, we are identifying public lands that have been neglected, encroached upon, abandoned or misused. We will continue reclaiming such spaces & transform them into meaningful public assets. The inauguration was attended by our Hon’ble Deputy Municipal Commissioner, BMC officers and engineers, BJP Mumbai secretary Acharya Pawan Tripathi ji, and our respected former & current corporators: Abhijit Samant ji, Pankaj Yadav ji, Sandhya Yadav ji, Mamta Yadav ji, Prakash Musale ji, Kesharben Patel ji, Disha Yadav ji & Ritesh Rai ji.

A Positive Update: The space beneath the Teli Gali flyover has been fully cleared within 48 hours. This area had become a storage spot for scrap vehicles, creating significant fire and safety hazards. Following thorough inspections with BMC, RTO, and Police officials, strict clearance orders were issued and promptly executed. I have formally proposed to the BMC Commissioner that this site be developed into a garden and open gym, and I raised this issue in yesterday’s Mumbai Suburban DPDC meeting as well. This action reflects our broader commitment to reclaim neglected public spaces and convert them into secure, functional assets for the community. I will maintain close coordination with all departments to ensure the space is preserved and utilized responsibly.
