Eye see you 👁️ The sonification of the Helix Nebula scans from left to right, where redder colors correspond with lower pitches while bluer colors are associated with higher pitches. It has been called “The Eye of Sauron" for its uncanny and all-seeing appearance.

Here comes (a storm from) the Sun 🎶☀️ NASA’s PUNCH mission is sharpening forecasts with four satellites that monitor the Sun’s surface in 3D. Its first test predicted a storm’s arrival within 30 minutes, which is 10 times better than current methods.

Let's reflect... Albedo is a measure of how much light and heat a surface reflects. Lighter objects tend to have higher albedo, and darker objects have lower. This reflectivity plays an important role in studying the makeup of the surface of bodies like the Moon.

In 2023, we brought a sample of an asteroid called Bennu to Earth, part of a plan to study remnants of our early solar system. These grains of rock have shown that the building blocks of life and the conditions for making them existed on Bennu's parent body 4.5 billion years ago.

Hi Rise! 🧵 The Artemis II zero gravity indicator was designed by 3rd grader Lucas Ye. Our blanket technician at Goddard brought it to life, fabricated in the same lab where blankets are created to keep spacecraft like Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope the right temperature for science.

Get ready to wave to an asteroid 👋🪨 In 2029, asteroid Apophis will swing by Earth, passing safely about 20,000 miles from the surface. The OSIRIS-APEX mission will meet up with the asteroid shortly after, to map the surface and study its chemical makeup.

Let's step into the light and explore the terminator. It's the line between day and night. As the NASA Artemis II crew flew over the Moon's terminator, they saw lunar craters and ridges cast dramatic shadows, the kind future explorers might see at the Moon's South Pole.

Superheavy neutron stars spin so fast they briefly delay their inevitable collapse into black holes, although only for a few tenths of a second! Because of their very short existence, detecting signals from them is tough.

Stars are still being born today. ✨ In starburst galaxies like Messier 82, stellar birth is an explosive process, driving enormous galactic winds. By peering through dust clouds, NASA Webb Telescope reveals the hidden chaos.

We can’t see them, but we know they’re there! ⚫ In this NASA visualization, we see 22 X-ray binary systems that host confirmed black holes, all shown at the same scale and with their orbits sped up by about 22,000 times.

You've seen his visualizations. Now, meet the man who knows the far side of the Moon like the back of his hand. Ernie Wright maps the Moon, which comes in handy when training NASA Artemis astronauts to see parts of the lunar surface humans have never laid eyes on before.
