If we are truly all Rwandans, why should the children of a former FAR officer attending Sandhurst be presented as something exceptional or as proof of “unity”? It shouldn't be. Equal opportunity should be the norm, not political propaganda. Using one family's story to validate a political narrative does not demonstrate national reconciliation, it demonstrates Paul Kagame’s political messaging. Apparently, President Paul Kagame has seen one of my posts — the one where I criticized signs of a potential monarchy or family dynasty. In response, he said his children are just Rwandans like everyone else, that he wished all three sons joined the army, but the eldest chose to make money instead. Fair enough I just hope he also pays attention to our other critiques, especially the ones that don’t revolve around his family.

The worsening situation for Congolese women is deeply alarming and deserves urgent global attention. Reports of humiliation, torture, and killings must not be ignored. We firmly condemn Major General Sylvain Ekenge for his recent hate speech. We also call for equal condemnation of Rwandan Senator Evode Uwizeyimana , who publicly stated that Congolese people and their sisters are "ugly," using Dr Denis Mukwege as a comparison, implying that the Rwandan army Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) could not have raped them. Dear Rwandans, Dear Emma Claudine Attn: City of Kigali Urban order and human dignity must go together. Saying that street vendors or people forced to sleep outside “should simply not be there” ignores a basic reality: they exist because of unemployment, poverty, and lack of opportunities. Removing them from the streets does not remove the problem. A modern city is not defined only by how clean its streets look, but by how it treats its most vulnerable citizens. Real leadership is not about hiding poverty, it is about addressing its causes. Such arrogance toward vulnerable citizens from a public official is deeply troubling. When state representatives show contempt for people struggling to survive, it calls into question their sense of responsibility and accountability in public office. Rwandan artist and U.S.-based YouTuber #Muchoma (real name: Didier Nizeyimana) is reportedly being detained in Rwanda. He was allegedly transferred from Gisenyi to Kigali by the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (Rwanda Investigation Bureau after his phone number appeared in a YouTube channel in which #Barafinda questioned the detention of Congolese General Laurent Nkunda, who has been held in Rwanda for more than 15 years without publicly available judicial proceedings. #Muchoma was reportedly preparing to return to the United States at the time of his arrest and had traveled to Rwanda to visit his pregnant wife. Dear Ignatius R. Kabagambe The issue is not whether people can change their views. The real question is whether every political "conversion" is genuinely ideological, or sometimes simply a matter of personal circumstances and survival. Senator Evode Evode Uwizeyimana himself once described the FPR FPR-Inkotanyi in highly critical terms, even referring to it as a group that had taken Rwanda hostage "AGATSIKO K'AMABANDI YAFASHE U RWANDA N'ABANYARWANDA BUGWATE". What changed: his convictions or his circumstances? When former critics later work with the system they once condemned, it is fair to ask whether this reflects a sincere change of heart or the realities of rebuilding a life and finding opportunities where they exist. And please, in the future, spare us the argument of association. Defending someone's rights does not mean sharing their politics. I supported Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza Ingabire's release because, as a Rwandan citizen, I believed she had been unjustly imprisoned. I would do the same for you or anyone else facing what I consider an injustice. The European Union has repeatedly raised concerns about political freedoms and human rights in Rwanda, yet Kagame's government continues to engage and cooperate with it. Criticism and cooperation are not mutually exclusive. The real question remains: can dissenting voices participate fully in public life without first having to align themselves with the ruling establishment?
