Apparently, President Paul Kagame has seen one of my posts — the one where I criticized signs of a potential monarchy or family dynasty. In response, he said his children are just Rwandans like everyone else, that he wished all three sons joined the army, but the eldest chose to make money instead. Fair enough I just hope he also pays attention to our other critiques, especially the ones that don’t revolve around his family.

Dear Rwandans, Dear Emma Claudine Attn: City of Kigali Urban order and human dignity must go together. Saying that street vendors or people forced to sleep outside “should simply not be there” ignores a basic reality: they exist because of unemployment, poverty, and lack of opportunities. Removing them from the streets does not remove the problem. A modern city is not defined only by how clean its streets look, but by how it treats its most vulnerable citizens. Real leadership is not about hiding poverty, it is about addressing its causes. Such arrogance toward vulnerable citizens from a public official is deeply troubling. When state representatives show contempt for people struggling to survive, it calls into question their sense of responsibility and accountability in public office. Rwandan artist and U.S.-based YouTuber #Muchoma (real name: Didier Nizeyimana) is reportedly being detained in Rwanda. He was allegedly transferred from Gisenyi to Kigali by the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (Rwanda Investigation Bureau after his phone number appeared in a YouTube channel in which #Barafinda questioned the detention of Congolese General Laurent Nkunda, who has been held in Rwanda for more than 15 years without publicly available judicial proceedings. #Muchoma was reportedly preparing to return to the United States at the time of his arrest and had traveled to Rwanda to visit his pregnant wife. Dear Rwandans, I have seen a video circulating on X that should concern every Rwandan and citizen of conscience: hatred and genocide ideology are still being spread decades after 1994. Opposing a regime or criticizing politics does not give anyone the right to incite discrimination, denial, or ethnic violence. The video (📸1994) shows Jean Bosco Barayagwiza, a militant of the extremist #CDR party. He died in Benin on April 25, 2010, serving a 32-year sentence from the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. It also shows Rose Marie Kobwa (Rwanda), promoting discrimination among Rwandans and spreading genocide ideology, openly inciting hatred decades after the 1994 genocide against Tutsi. This behavior is unacceptable and must be firmly condemned. No one should provide shelter or protection to those spreading genocide ideology or inciting division. To the youth and all citizens: learn from history, reject hate, stand for justice, and speak out against discrimination. Dear Rwandans, Dear Youth, “You are nothing. Idiots.” These are reportedly the words of Ignatius R. Kabagambe spokesperson of the University of Rwanda University of Rwanda when asked to delete tweets attacking a young woman who said she was “broke” and urged Government of Rwanda Ministry of Youth and Arts | Rwanda to address youth poverty. Instead of respecting her right to free expression, he publicly humiliated her, branding her an “enemy of the state”-a label with serious consequences. BBC News Africa reports indicate she later suffered psychological distress. In his defense, Kabagambe claimed that when the President speaks harshly, no one questions him, so he owes explanations to no one and only answers to Paul Kagame. The Kagame’s regime has mastered the art of narrative control. The journalist Cyuma Hassan appears to be doing better but why show this now?
