Gen. Museveni is basically admitting that the state interferes in judicial matters. He says thousands of political prisoners, including those arrested 6 years ago and some stopped appearing in court , are denied bail because they ‘intimidate witnesses.’ But we have to ask: How does someone in prison threaten witnesses? Where would they even find them? And in what capacity is he speaking? Is he the judge now? Getting bail now should be his directive? Why is he pre-judging his political opponents as lawbreakers before they have been tried in courts of law?
