NEW: The mother of the teen who beat his teacher unconscious says he was sentenced to five years in prison because “he is black.” Brendan Depa was sentenced to 5 years in state prison and 15 years probation for attacking his teacher who took his Nintendo. Leanne Depa says her adopted son is just being punished because of his skin color and his disability. “They are punishing that he is Black, they are punishing that he is large and they are punishing his disability,” she said. “I think he needs help. I think he needs treatment but I don't think he needs to be put away in a prison where he's going to be taken advantage of or harmed.” The teacher suffered broken ribs, a concussion and has PTSD.

Popular Youtuber and US. ARMY veteran Dugan Ashley has been arrested on destructive devices charges and denied bail/bond due to “hate speech/Antisemitic remarks” and “public safety risks”. Today we will be discussing the who/what/when/where/why. Arrested and denied bail????? For what? Hate speech? At first it was said he was arrested for an old video, reading and showing how to make legal destructive devices, basically from the anarchist cookbook. Apparently some “known terrorist” downloaded his video so they claimed that he was distributing/working with terrorists. Well after his bond was denied the story quickly changed and the true reason of why they are throwing the book at him was revealed. These courts not only granted bail but also upheld the rule of law. In Quetta, we applied for bail in the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) before Judge Muhammad Ali Mubeen. He granted bail in many cases; however, in some cases, he later suspended the bail. Despite this setback, we did not lose hope and approached the Balochistan High Court seeking justice in those bailable cases where the ATC had suspended bail. For the past two months, Chief Justice Kamran Mullah Khel has reserved his judgment, but no decision has yet been announced. This situation clearly reflects that the justice system of Pakistan is under pressure from state institutions, commonly referred to as the Establishment. Meanwhile, in Hudda Jail, Dr. Mahrang Baloch and her colleagues have been facing jail trial proceedings for the past six months. During this period, the proceedings have not been conducted fairly or smoothly. Judge Muhammad Ali Mubeen who previously suspended bail in some cases has raised serious concerns about impartial justice. Our legal team, along with Dr. Mahrang Baloch, requested the transfer of the case to another judge. However, not only was this request denied, but the judge also threatened to add more charges against them. This is not merely a denial of justice; it is a direct threat to peaceful political activists who are the voice of their nation.

The people who arrested them, they are police officers who came from DCI HQ in Nairobi not Kisumu, specially organized to come and arrest them. Even the police officers in Kisumu are saying PS Interior is rogue, he is disturbing them, he cannot give them their independence. Every time phone calls, go and arrest so and so because those people are not speaking his language. The first person who should be arrested is the PS Interior. He blasts his colleagues on the Court as “brainwashed”. He blasts the judges on the Court of Criminal Appeals as RINOs. He misses over 50% of oral arguments before the Court. He expects he is going to have to rule on election law cases where the Democrats have stolen the election like they did in 2020.
