Charlie Munger on getting old and rich: 1. whatever you are, wealth and age only make you more so. they don't change you. they just hand you more of what you already are. 2. warren buffett gave away most of his money. i did the exact opposite. more than half of mine already went to my kids. and handing it to a foundation isn't really giving it away anyway. it just keeps the money running another hundred years. 3. there are things you give up with time. when i was younger i'd have paid any amount to catch a 200lb tuna. never managed it. now you could hand me the chance and i'd turn it down. i won't even get in the boat. too much work to haul the thing in. 4. this is my idea of a proper old age. a busy schedule. zoom calls. breakfasts. lunches. i didn't plan any of it. it just happened. and when it did, i welcomed it. 5. i'm good at spotting unfair advantages. i grabbed them when i was young. i grab them now that i'm old. boom, boom, boom. the one grab i never made was a third wife. too late for that.
