My position is being misunderstood, so let me clarify. In the first video, the officer is proposing to his legally wedded wife during a passing-out event. There is nothing objectionable in that, and I have no issue with it. My concern is with the second video. If the person being proposed to is a girlfriend/fiancée and not yet a legally declared spouse, then the matter is different. In the Armed Forces, procedures such as marriage declaration, dependent documentation, and official recognition exist for a reason. Until those formalities are completed and the individual becomes part of the military family through due process, using sensitive military premises, equipment, or restricted areas for personal photoshoots raises legitimate questions about protocol. This is not about opposing love, relationships, or personal happiness. It is about maintaining the same standards of discipline, security, and procedure that every soldier is expected to follow. Love deserves respect. Military protocols deserve respect too. The debate is about the latter not the former. 🇮🇳
