Every time I post our boys in etiquette class, folks say: “Why y’all teaching them to eat like white people?” Neatness ain’t “white.” If you call it that, you’re saying being loud, dirty, & sloppy is “Black.” We’re teaching excellence, discipline, & self-respect.

Our program gets attacked because I don’t teach my boys to hate white people or live in fear of the police. Instead, I teach them auto repair, how to grow food, wear suits, use tools, and carry themselves like men. Skills > excuses. Discipline > victimhood. 👊🏾🇺🇸

Today, on January 17, around 11AM, I was pulled over by a white policeman in a small country town. I can’t believe what happened to me. I wanted to share this with you all so that others can be aware of what happens when black men are pulled over by white police officers.

This is relevant again, in light of the Tyreek Hill situation with police. De-escalation is crucial. Not saying that bad things can’t still happen, but we want to minimize the chances as much as possible. If we’re scared of the police, the last thing I’m doing is being rude.
