The BC Billion dollar First Nations giveaway you've never heard of. BC has handed veto control over the huge New Prosperity copper/gold mine to the Tsilhqotʼin. The deal gifted the FN a 22.5% stake arguably worth $1 billion. Why? A conspiracy theory about germ warfare.

"You're full of fucking shit," said TRU student to Jim McMurtry, whose MA thesis at the U of Alberta on indigenous education in Canada was supervised by Residential School scholar Dr. Robert Carney, father of PM Mark Carney. "Ignorance is a dangerous thing," responded McMurtry. McMurtry, who also obtained a PhD from the U of Toronto, was forcibly removed from his Abbotsford BC high-school classroom in 2021 when news of a "mass grave" at the Kamloops Indian Residential School broke. McMurtry told his students, based on his knowledge and scholarship, that the school children died from disease and other non-criminal causes. McMurtry, eventually fired from his teaching job for his views, is seen in this video contending that there is an important distinction between death by sickness & death by murder. McMurtry was at TRU in Kamloops on Nov 12 with Frances Widdowson & Dallas Brodie for what Widdowson called "a reckoning" over the claim that the bodies of 215 murdered children are buried in unmarked graves at Kamloops Indian Residential School. The claim is based on GPR data collected in an area of significant previous disturbance. The GPR data has not yet been ground-truthed. Although subjected to sustained verbal abuse as evidenced by this video, the trio reported that they successfully engaged in meaningful dialogue about an important issue in Canadian public life.

"Half & Half" & "a 50% revenue sharing model" is what Chief Rosanne Casimir spoke of this morning regarding her Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation's law suit that claims the entire City of Kamloops & vast additional real estate. Casimir's 52 min speech to the exploration & mining industry at the AME Roundup convention in Vancouver did not address the controversy surrounding her as yet unverified 2021 claim that the remains of 215 children had been found in a mass grave at the Kamloops Indian Residential School. "Our laws will stand alongside Canadian law, supported by UNDRIP," said Casimir.

“There’s so much riding on this false claim, they’re afraid if you pull that card out of the house of cards that it’s all going to come tumbling down,” said Dr. Frances Widdowson to young indigenous woman at UBC who says her grandparents went to residential school. She didn’t know the Kamloops 215 graves report was based on GPR, not confirmed remains. Despite the enraged UBC mob, Widdowson calmly explains her view that excavations should proceed to establish the facts. The two were crouched down in conversation to avoid the clamour.
