This was 13 years ago at twin creeks. Most physical middle school team I’ve ever seen. 6+ guys over 6’ tall. They destroyed teams. In the end, smallest guy on the team at 5‘3“, Darren Baker, was the only guy to play in the MLB. Moral of story- doesn’t matter what you do at 14.

I’ve coached a lot of games, probably close to 700 at this Peoria sports complex. It’s tough to see how bad these fields have regressed. I don’t know who’s to blame, but this is not it. It should be better. It’s a spring training facility.

We are at the Reds complex and it’s just a shame that they have holes in the infield and they fill it with sand. One of our guys got a severe ankle sprain. It’s been 100–1 10 and no water is provided. There’s no reason for that. That’s a safety deal. Had to give the home plate Umpire my electrolyte drinks. Happy to do it as he was going to pass out.

A little insight on Jackson Flora. This is right about when things turn the corner at an MLK tournament in Arizona. He entered high school at 5‘4“, 100 pounds. You don’t know where you’re gonna end up. Just keep working hard and loving the game. Tony Crivello

We lost one of our Tony Crivello guys the other day. Lots of people hurting. Puts everything else in perspective. Make sure you hug your people, check in with them, and make sure they know you are there for them 24/7. 🙏 Jim Snelling Dan Bugarin Bradley Ingram

Out in Surprise complex this morning for PG WWBA and the fields are impeccable. Amazing what a great crew can do. It’s very appreciated.

“Travel ball“ now has SILLY SEASON! Inviting kids, many of them not ready, to play in All American All State all block games that mean absolutely nothing, appeals to ego, but cost a fortune 🤷‍♂️. Buyer beware. @BluebookBeede Next Level Baseball Clint Hurdle

Tony Crivello and I are always trying to get better. How can we improve? More practice and development? Local league games that are competitive? Still challenge nationally with our own guys? Some thoughts- Jeremy Booth Dyron Lamar Rolling Tim McDonnell Next Level Baseball Clint Hurdle
