A Kashmiri student from Poonch, Aftaab Hussain, was thrashed in Dr. Hari Singh Gour University for simply joining Navratri festivities. The attackers are alleged to be goons of Hindu Jagran, VHP, Bajrang Dal & BJP’s ecosystem. If Kashmiri students can’t even participate in your events, what does sabka saath mean? You’ve exposed yourselves as the most anti-national, communal force in this country. Today Hon’ble MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi condemned the terrorist regime of Occupied Palestine and its aggression against Iran in the Parliament. Some people who have made the terrorist regime their fatherland, clearly had issues with this condemnation. Shameful. Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi further thanked the Hon’ble Railway Minister for accepting the just demands from Kashmir to not lay railway lines through our orchards. He also raised a number of points to improve the functioning of the Vande Bharat train.

It’s unfortunate to see the conversation reduced to personal attacks. I am not the story here, Ruhullah is just a name. The real story is the existential threat to Kashmir. Do they know where our boys are - those who’ve been jailed for years? Do they still remember the promises made to lift our heads again? We didn’t fight to decorate the dictators with shawls and bouquets. We fought to do right by our people.

This regime 'allows' the Muharram procession, not to honor faith, but to market ‘normalcy’ in Kashmir. If they truly respected religious freedom, the Jama Masjid Srinagar wouldn’t be locked on Eids, on Fridays. Worship wouldn’t need state approval there.

Democracy shouldn’t be selective. Why lecture the world about it while bulldozing it in Kashmir? Our orchards and farmlands, sustaining families for decades, are being seized for railways we never agreed to. How is this ‘development’ when it tramples rights? Revoking Article 370 took away our autonomy. Now, land grabs threaten to erase our roots. How many more layers of loss must Kashmiris endure before this exploitation ends?
