Dangote admits how he almost sold 40% of Dangote Cement to Lafarge. He went to see Lafarge Africa CEO and proposed an offer to sell 40% of his company and retain 60%. They countered with 51% to Lafarge and 49% to Dangote. Alongside a clause that Dangote would never venture into cement again. Dangote rejected the counter offer due to rumours from his competition that he was tight on cash.
