Extremely determined people have discovered the General Resource LTD. logo on supply crates in a scene in the Ace Combat 8: Wings Of Theve announcement trailer. General Resource is one of the major factions in Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere, by 2040 the corporation wields the power of a nation and is recognized internationally as a sovereign state. Holding control of most of the Usean continent by this time. Ace Combat 8 reportedly takes place in 2029, and it is highly likely the game will contain events which detail the Corporation's rise to monolithic power that looms over Usea.

Those of you entering the franchise with Ace Combat 8: Wings Of Theve should know that: While nuclear weapons exist, they were invented by the Belkans in the 90s, and due to extreme non-nuclear proliferation agreements no nation uses them. So instead, every war looks like this! In Ace Combat, there are exactly two safe places. The cockpit of the protagonist Ace, and in this week's Super Weapon until it's last fight. The Gleipnir, a super weapon from the PSP game Ace Combat: X, is a mod for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, and is available on Nexus Mods. And sometimes this is more my style. Large. Strategic. Grand.

So while I'm still posting Ace Combat related things, here have this. Waaaaaay the hell back in 2019, right before Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown released, I was particularly enthused and needed something for my stream "pre-show." Basically the waiting room as most people would call it now, I spent a lot of time coming up with music playlists and video gags to make them special, and Ace Combat 7 was special to me. So... Yeah I took all the trailers and stapled this video together, I guess Puddle Of Mudd's Blurry from Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War took over and I made a video game trailer from 2005 for a game in 2019. Note though nobody knew anything about the plot of the game, so I just PRETENDED to know what was going on while I made this, and I think I did an okay job in hindsight.

How do you notch a FOX 3 in War Thunder? The simple answer is: Fly sideways. That's not a joke if you don't know this. Turn 90 degrees and place the Radar or Missile contact on your RWR on the 3 or 9 o'clock position, dump chaff, and either gain or lose altitude, until the missile or contact stops beeping. Radar and Radar missiles have what is known as a "Notch" filter. This filter is primarily to filter out the ground from the radar display or sensor. Because if a missile is moving at 1,000m/s, what is also approaching the missile at 1,000m/s? Often times it's the ground. However, this can cause the missile or radar to also filter out slow moving targets as background clutter. If you plane is not moving directly towards or away from the missile or radar it will start to think you are part of the clutter and filter you out, missing you in the process. This is the simplest explanation of how a notch works and how to do it. FOX 3s are extremely hard to dodge like this at close range though, so you typically don't want to do that. As your options are either: "Dump chaff and pray" or "Shoot the missile down with another missile." Either can actually work in War Thunder, but are extremely unreliable. Note, almost all planes do not have an RWR sensor on the top and bottom of the fuselage, so make sure you fly level and point either wingtip at the target. This is what is known as "Beam aspect" to the target, but most people just say "notching" or "F Pull." See the video for a practical example against an AIM-54 Phoenix.
