Scientists discovered a galaxy so enormous that it almost doesn't seem real. Known as IC 1101, this cosmic giant may contain nearly a trillion stars, making it one of the largest galaxies ever discovered. For comparison, our own Milky Way contains only a fraction of that number. The scale of IC 1101 is almost impossible to imagine. If our Sun were just one of its stars, there would still be hundreds of billions more spread across this colossal galaxy. And the craziest part? Despite its unbelievable size, IC 1101 is just one galaxy among billions scattered throughout the universe. Which means the cosmos may be far larger than we can truly comprehend. 🌌✨⭐ #space #galaxy

This isn't just an animation-it's the actual orbital path of Star S2 around the supermassive black hole at the center of our Milky Way, Sagittarius A*. For 27 years, astronomers tracked S2 as it danced around a 4.1-million-solar-mass "invisible" object. The mind-blowing part? Look closely at the orbit. It doesn't trace a perfect, closed loop. Instead, the orbit itself rotates over time, creating a flower-like pattern. This is called Schwarzschild Precession. According to Newton, gravity should keep the orbit in a fixed ellipse. But Einstein's General Relativity predicted that in extreme gravity, space-time is so warped that the orbit must space-time is so warped that the orbit must shift. In 2020, the VLT (Very Large Telescope) finally confirmed this shift, proving Einstein's theory holds up even at the edge of a black hole!

Our Home Earth from the Moon From the Moon’s surface, Earth rises as a brilliant blue sphere—our home glowing against the vast darkness of space. Swirls of white clouds drift over deep oceans and continents, creating a striking contrast with the Moon’s quiet, grey terrain. In that distant view, everything we know—every life, every story—exists on that small, radiant world. While the Moon remains still and silent, Earth appears alive with motion and energy. Seeing our planet from so far away reshapes perspective. It feels smaller, yet more valuable than ever—fragile, unique, and worth protecting. Far away… yet forever home. #nasa #space #spacex
