Keys 🔑 to a great lefty pickoff move: ✅ Gain ground ✅ Flirt with 45° angle ✅ Mimic tempo with regular pitch ✅ Walk off throw towards 1st base ✅ Turn head and shoulders as late as possible ✅ Match head movement with pitches and picks It boils down to matching your pitches and pickoff move as close as possible. Try this throwing progression with plyos or a baseball: - Ground throws - Knee throws - Ten toes - Figure 8 rocker - Regular This is great for guys looking to improve their spinal movement capability. In addition to working on your movement through mobility work, this is a great way to test the limits of your ranges in the throw. When you get to your regular throws you’ll notice how much easier it is to get in and out of positions. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Zac Gallen did NOT have his fastball in the 1st inning. 3/11 strikes. This 1-0 pitch to Rizzo may have saved his outing. If you don't have feel for the fastball, throw something different! After a mound visit from Strom, Gallen threw a 1-0 changeup for a GB to end in the inning. 1st inning: 0 H 0 R 2 BB 0 K 35% strikes Next 5 innings: 3 H 0 R 1 BB 6 K 63% strikes This is a game of adjustments. The faster you can make them, the better.

Little friendly competition between 2 uncommitted ‘26 arms from Liberty HS. Justin Lavine vs. Brock Bowman The game rules are simple. The players will alternate pitch for pitch. I called the pitch they had to throw. If it was in/touching TrackMan zone, they received a point. Bonus during last round. 3 points for a velo minimum and in zone pitch. It was a tight score with Brock coming out on top! Both guys had one of their better command days. Justin with a command+ score of 86 and Brock with a 106. D1 average is 82 and MLB average is 100! Sometimes you need the competitive juices flowing to enhance focus and performance!

✅ +3 MPH ✅ +5” more of depth ✅ +1.6” of HB In a matter of 1 pitch! High school senior making impressive change to slider with slight grip change. Old grip: - Holding outside of ball - Fingertips too far over seams New grip: - Off-set 4 seam - Fingertips “hugging” seams - Ball torqued in hand Sometimes all it takes is a subtle change.
