He successfully chaired a 🇺🇸 gov’t study to streamline permitting. His analysis of Canada’s competitiveness? “Canada has fallen behind… for too long capital has not felt welcome here… we’re competing with the world under a very different set of expectations…the US sanctioned $56 billion of LNG projects, Canada zero… we began construction 8 months after filing our permit (in Mexico)… their Plan 2030 seeks to attract investment of $300 billion." April 2025: You elected me to get a deal. May 2025: I pressed Trump to lift tariffs. No deal, more work required. June 2025: We’re working hand-in-hand with the 🇺🇸. June 2025: I dropped the Digital Services Tax (DST). June 2025: We’ll have a deal by July 21. July 2025: We’ll have a deal by August 1. August 2025: We have the best deal already. August 2025: I dropped the counter-tariffs. Sept 2025: I dropped more counter-tariffs in secret. October 2025: I met with Trump again & offered a $ trillion in investment but no deal. October 2025: I put Trump on notice about the consequences of not having a deal. November 2025: I apologized to Trump. December 2025: Our strategy is to not rush into a bad deal. It's all falling apart for Mark Carney. He's pissed of the left wing of the Liberal Party, Stephen Guilbeault is leaving, Eby is carping at him & Alberta is furious with the pipeline MOU as is the Prosperity Project. He's now lost the support of the Bloc Quebecois. By insisting that a simple majority on any separation referendum would be subject to the Clarity Act, he's gutted the Bloc's mandate. He was hammered in the HoC today.

In 🇲🇽, it took 🇨🇦TC Energy 8 months for the ENTIRE pre-approval phase up to construction kick-off for an LNG pipeline. 8⃣It took Carney 8 months for a carbon pricing deal on an Alberta oil pipeline to tidewater. Glacial. 🚫No other oil producing country is imposing this. It repels private capital. ⏲️FN & B.C. approvals, carbon capture agreement, an investment proponent & many other hurdles are left. And the MPO. 🏛️“Referring to the MPO does not mean the project is approved.” This is a set up for failure wrapped in an announcement candy coating.

We’ve already seen through more reasonable application of regulations, acceleration of timing for permits…” After a year, Mark Carney has brought no energy regulation reform.
