Recent devastating wildfires across Spain inspired me to build this real-time wildfire evacuation simulator using Three.js. The system combines GeoTIFF elevation data with WebGL shaders & semi-Lagrangian advection to model fire spread using wind fields, terrain slope & rate-of-spread algorithms. It calculates optimal evacuation routes with A* pathfinding & dynamic edge weighting based on AQI exposure, showing how leaving 30′ later completely changes your route safety due to road closures & smoke dispersion. Critical for disaster preparedness - timing & route selection are literally life-or-death decisions b/c when wildfires hit, every min matters for evacuation decisions! still a WIP but shows the potential of interactive simulation for emergency planning.
