MacArthur Park has become an open-air drug market in the middle of a neighborhood where families live and children play. Federal agents seized millions in fentanyl while local leadership looked the other way. Councilwoman Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez has spent more time defending the status quo than fixing it. If she can’t protect the people living there, she should step aside. Lead, follow, or get out of the way.

Los Angeles is facing crime, homelessness, and corruption — yet Councilwoman Nithya Raman wants to focus on banning backyard barbecues. This Memorial Day weekend, I’ll be firing up the grill and spending time with family and friends. We need common-sense leadership focused on fixing the real problems facing LA.

California needs an experienced leader who is competent and has common sense. As Mayor of San Jose, Matt runs the safest large city in the United States. Imagine what a track record of success like that can do for our state. Vote Mayor Matt Mahan for Governor on June 2nd.

What’s happening at SpaceX in El Segundo is truly extraordinary. Walking through those buildings, you feel an incredible sense of pride knowing that some of the most advanced technology in the world is being built right here in Southern California. The young men and women working there every day are helping shape the future of space, communication, and American leadership. We should all be proud that the USA is taking the lead in the future of space!

Despite the heartbreak and frustration, I know this: we will rebuild our city. Together, we will support those who have lost so much, stand by our first responders, and emerge stronger. In times of great adversity, Angelenos always rise to the occasion—and this time will be no different. Entire neighborhoods have been wiped out, and countless Angelenos have lost their homes, businesses, and so much more. My heart breaks for all who are suffering, and I am profoundly grateful to our brave first responders. They are true heroes. At the same time, there’s undeniable frustration over reports that critical resources like water for hoses were unavailable and that brush clearance wasn’t conducted on public land. These shortcomings need to be addressed, and tough questions asked of why our leadership, including the mayor, weren’t here. The basic fundamentals of leadership start with being present. These challenges demand accountability, and Angelenos deserve answers.

Nashville is what Los Angeles could be with the right leadership. A citywide wave of investment, new housing, and retail development is driving an economic boom and job growth here. The result is a high quality of life: safe, clean streets, no encampments blocking sidewalks, and genuine urban energy that attracts both businesses and residents. Nashville’s success isn’t an accident—it’s the product of disciplined, long-term leadership and smart policy.

I’m proud to endorse Josh Fryday for Lieutenant Governor. Josh is a Navy veteran who served this country proudly and understands what real leadership looks like. He’s tough, driven by common sense and integrity, and focused on bringing people together to solve problems — not play political games. California needs leaders who will make tough decisions, restore accountability, and help move our state in the right direction. If we want to get back to the Golden State we know and love, we need leaders like Josh Fryday.

Councilmen Hugo Soto-Martínez says there’s nothing we can do about the crisis of 11 year old child prostitutes walking Figueroa Corridor. He’s wrong, as usual. LAPD Officer Rose Luledzhyan has put her life on the line for 28 years to help these girls, but Hugo throws his hands up and says we have to accept this reality. If Councilmen Martinez can’t or won’t help stop child sex trafficking & prostitution, he should resign. Lead, follow, or get out of the way.

Today marks a major milestone for our city and this community as we officially began site clearance at Palisades Park. This project is about more than building Palisades Park — it’s about creating a world-class gathering place where kids can play, families can connect, and seniors can come together for generations to come. None of this would have been possible without the extraordinary collaboration between the public and private sectors, making this the largest public-private partnership in LA City history. Grateful to Mayor Bass, Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, Councilwoman Traci Park, Coach JJ Redick, LA Strong Sports, Gensler, SWA Group, Freeman Group, and Latham & Watkins for helping us reach this important day. Stay tuned for more details on our virtual community meeting on June 3, where our design teams will share updated renderings and what’s next for Palisades Park.

.Mayor Matt Mahan has a proven track record of delivering real results. While others push higher taxes and more spending with nothing to show for it, he’s focused on safer communities, tackling homelessness, and making government actually work. California needs solutions, not more of the same.

Quality of life in Los Angeles is at its lowest level in 11 years according to a new survey. People & businesses are leaving to places like Austin & Nashville where life feels more affordable, safer, and cleaner. How do we stop this? We stop electing people based off ideology. Elect people based on competency and with a proven track record.

It’s wide open—but what’s happening at the top is turning into a circus. In the middle of a housing crisis, runaway spending, and stalled growth, California can’t afford to hand the reins to politicians who aren’t ready to lead. This moment demands serious leadership and real results.

New reporting from the Los Angeles Times reveals the Palisades fire was preventable. Firefighters wanted to stay and contain it, but were ordered to leave. The result: devastation across the community. It’s time for an independent investigation and real accountability. Read the article:

Coconut Grove is very cool and gets the fundamentals right—walkable, clean, safe, and connected to the water. In a rapidly growing Miami, it stands apart with thoughtful, livable development. I met for the first time with Jordan Gimelstein of INHOUSE Commercial Sales to show me around. He seems like a hard working guy and knows the commercial market. I like helping young professionals grow their business so if you want to learn more about this area, reach out to Jordan at [email protected]

We deserve better! Mayor Bass has repeatedly emphasized the “rapid pace of rebuilding, including issuing permits.” Thousands of homes were destroyed, and yet fewer than 100 building permits have been issued after six months. Does anyone believe this is rapid rebuilding? While the Army Corps did an amazing job clearing the debris, the City has failed to create the expedited permit process it promised. Residents are stuck in endless red tape at City Hall. Steadfast LA

Mismanagement has real-life consequences. I just learned LAPD is at a 30-year low. More officers are quitting LAPD than joining, and now the City Council has canceled the next academy class. Neighborhoods are left feeling unsafe because it is impossible for LAPD to protect our city with limited resources. Our leadership continues to fail us.

I’m proud to support Jake Levine for Congress. Standing in the Palisades today, you can see exactly why we need new leadership — families are rebuilding their homes while dangerous overhead power lines still run through these communities. From the Palisades to Simi Valley, Jake understands that wildfire resilience and modern infrastructure can’t wait. He has a real plan to underground power lines, protect neighborhoods across the 32nd District, and fight for the federal resources needed to prevent another tragedy like this from happening again. We need leaders who take action, not politicians who ignore these problems for decades. Lead, follow, or get out of the way.
