Surprise! 📖✨ This evening, The Queen made a surprise appearance at the Royal Festival Hall in London, reading a historic letter written by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, as part of ‘Letters Live’. ‘Letters Live’ is a live celebration of the enduring power of literary correspondence. Each show always features a completely different array of great performers, reading remarkable letters written over the centuries and from around the world. Audiences attending Letters Live never know who is going to take to the stage or what letter they are going to bring alive. Her Majesty participated in tonight’s show alongside other cast members including Jessie Buckley, Simon Callow, Olivia Colman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Dame Harriet Walter, Rob Rinder, Sara Pascoe, and more. Tonight’s show will raise money for National Literacy Trust, of which Her Majesty is Patron.

Celebrating 30 years of Ebony Horse Club. 🐴 The Queen, President of Ebony Horse Club, visited the youth charity and community riding centre at their stables in Brixton. 🐎 Her Majesty met volunteers and young people who use the stables, including two teenagers who have just gained places at the British Racing School. The Queen also met horses, including Taylor and Maggie, who have joined Ebony from the Royal Mews.

Move your feet! 🩰 Established in 1920, the Royal Academy of Dance is one of the world’s leading dance education and training organisations, with members in 85 countries and over 400,000 students in the UK. With a commitment to public benefit, the RAD has developed programmes including Silver Swans (ballet for those over 55), Step Into Dance (dance classes in secondary schools), RADiate (dance for children with special educational needs), Move To The Musicals (exercise and jazz dance for those over 55) and Ballet for the Cancer Community. It was a joy to see the breadth of the Academy’s charitable work today, as well as to present the 2026 Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Award to Christopher Wheeldon for outstanding services to the art of ballet. The Queen is Patron of the RAD, following Queen Elizabeth II who held the position from 1953. Queen Mary was the Academy’s first Patron.

During a visit to the Isle of Man, The King sat down with James Fenton, a 104-year-old Burma Star veteran. James is one of the last surviving veterans of the Burma Campaign. His Majesty previously met him at commemorations for the 80th anniversary of VJ Day in 2025.

At Golders Green today, The King reaffirmed his support for the Jewish community, following a series of antisemitic attacks. During his time at the Jewish Care centre in North-West London, The King spoke to victims of the recent knife attack that took place in the area on 29th April 2026. His Majesty also met community police force, Shomrim, who were involved in responding to the attacks.

On the final day of another thrilling Wimbledon Championships, with 🫡 to all those who have participated, did you know…. 💭 100 years ago, in 1926, His Majesty’s grandfather King George VI became the first and only member of the Royal Family to compete at Wimbledon, playing in the Gentlemans’ Doubles. It was, alas, a resounding defeat! …Ah well, there’s always the strawberries! 🍓

Having been welcomed to Washington DC by The President and First Lady of the United States, The King and Queen were shown the beehives in the White House gardens. 🐝 The White House beehives were first established in 2009, serving as an enduring feature of the grounds across multiple administrations and producing honey for the White House. In 2026, First Lady Melania Trump enhanced the existing White House honey program to include a hand-crafted hive, shaped in the form of the White House. During the summer, the hive is home to approximately 70,000 bees.
