Meeting new friends and celebrating 100 years of Plumpton College. 🥰 Earlier this week, The Queen met students and staff, toured Plumpton College’s specialist facilities, including its new lemur enclosure, and unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark a century of land and environment education at the South Downs campus. This morning, The King spent time with specialist officers of British Transport Police, before officially opening the organisation’s new headquarters. 🚨 Amongst officers were some of the first responders involved in the Huntington train attack and recent train crash in Bedford, as well as specialists from the canine unit and drone team. 👮 British Transport Police is the specialist police force for Britain’s railways, London Underground, Docklands Light Railway, the Midland Metro tram system, Croydon Tramlink, Tyne and Wear Metro, Glasgow Subway and IFS cloud cable car, policing the network across England, Scotland and Wales.

Milne During a visit to Ashdown Forst, The Queen met staff, volunteers and local school children at ‘The Enchanted Place’, the spot where Christopher Robin said goodbye to Pooh at the end of ‘The House at Pooh Corner’. Between 1925 and 1940, author A. A. Milne lived near Ashdown Forest with his son, Christopher Robin, which provided the inspiration for the 100 Acre Wood. Marking 100 years since the publication of the first Winnie-the-Pooh book in 1926, Her Majesty today unveiled an all-weather trail named ‘Queen’s Walk’ that will enable easier access to the forest for future generations.

Anyone for a game of hand ba’?! 🫣 Thank you to everyone who came out to welcome The King to Jedburgh today! His Majesty spent time meeting local residents and businesses on the high street. At the ‘Jed Shed’, The King heard how the space helps members build new woodwork skills, confidence and connections. With the Jethart Callant Festival in full swing, His Majesty watched a reel and procession of horses as they made their way past the town square.

At Golders Green today, The King reaffirmed his support for the Jewish community, following a series of antisemitic attacks. During his time at the Jewish Care centre in North-West London, The King spoke to victims of the recent knife attack that took place in the area on 29th April 2026. 🏏 This morning, The King welcomed the Afghan national women’s cricket team to Clarence House. The team was set up during the Afghan Republic in 2010, but lost recognition as a national team following the Taliban’s return to power. In Afghanistan, women and girls are banned from playing sport, along with other restrictions on their education, work and public life. His Majesty was able to hear the stories of many of the players who fled Afghanistan and have rebuilt their lives as refugees, playing club cricket informally, and campaigning for recognition.

Having been welcomed to Washington DC by The President and First Lady of the United States, The King and Queen were shown the beehives in the White House gardens. 🐝 The White House beehives were first established in 2009, serving as an enduring feature of the grounds across multiple administrations and producing honey for the White House. In 2026, First Lady Melania Trump enhanced the existing White House honey program to include a hand-crafted hive, shaped in the form of the White House. During the summer, the hive is home to approximately 70,000 bees.
