With respect to Riley Herbst, I went and clipped the 35 team radio after his horrible impact. You can hear the immediate concern they had for Riley and they were also dissatisfied with NASCAR's response time as safety workers attended to Joey Logano's upside down car. Riley had his left arm wrapped after the race but told USA that he was OK.

Went back and watched Ross Chastain's onboard and it went down exactly like he told me it did. Spotter Brandon McReynolds told Chastain to push Kyle Larson as he went into the blinding sun. "Help him in the middle. Push him! Push him! Bottom's clear, bottom's clear. Keep pushing the 5." This after being 14th (and behind some lapped cars) at the white flag

Full breakdown of Zane Smith ramming into Carson Hocevar after the checkered flag including the onboard from Ross Chastain's car. The corner before it looked like Hocevar crossed Chastain's left front on exit and that it was very close. Can't say definitively if that had anything to do with how Chastain raced Hocevar in the next corner or not.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. admitted on pit road that he never saw Kyle Larson coming. He was focused on the 24 and by the time he realized the 5 was coming, it was too late to try and hold him off. "They kept running into each other, and I felt like if they could keep running into each other we were gonna be OK. I just never would've dreamed the 5 would've had that big of a run." Stenhouse lauded his team's strategy as well as the extra work they did addressing the transaxle issue that they found in their car after qualifying.

Asked Joey Logano for his reaction to Kasey Kahne returning to full-time NASCAR racing next year. Turns out I ended up being the one to break the news to him. "What you're getting is raw as you can get here, because I had no idea!" "Huh. Cool! That's cool, I didn't even know that was really a thing. Shows how tuned in I am to that type of stuff, I had no idea. But cool! I think everyone's gonna think that's pretty neat. I'm looking forward to watching it."

Asked Chase Elliott if he has considered recusing himself from the Most Popular Driver Award voting to allow Kyle Busch that honor, as his father Bill did when Dale Earnhardt died in 2001. "I would be in extreme favor of Kyle winning the vote. I think that he's a guy that certainly poured a lot of his life into this sport. Although he might've been getting boos a lot of weeks, he also had a lot of fans, and a lot of really passionate fans. "I really haven't processed all of that, I guess, to get to that point. But I would certainly be in favor of him winning and whatever it took. Yeah, I think it would be really deserving for him to have that honor."

Onboard cameras from the Riley Herbst/Michael McDowell incident, including Shane van Gisbergen's reaction watching the 35 take himself out taking the 71 out. Herbst and McDowell were exchanging contact racing for 19th. McDowell got into Herbst off Turn 2 and it seems like that's what got him seeing red going into the next corner.

Breakdown of the Kevin Magnussen vs. Noah Gragson beef. It began when Magnussen put the bumper to Noah and knocked him out of the way in Turn 2 on about Lap 25 which set him off. "All these F1 dickheads just think they get fenders and a fuckin' bumper, they just drive in the inside and just barrel into everyone. I've fuckin' had it." Gragson shipped Magnussen in the chicane about a lap after their initial contact, then drove up and against Magnussen during the caution for the Turn 1 pileup, gave him the finger for several moments, then gave him the finger again when they stopped for the red flag. Once the red flag was lifted and Magnussen passed Noah (after being told he'd line up between the 43 and 4), Noah took a shot at Magnussen's right rear fender and then his door. On the restart, Noah shipped Magnussen into Turn 3 and continued taking shots at him. Things finally calmed down for awhile until the Tyler Reddick spin, in which Noah ended up passing Magnussen. The next lap after Alex Bowman passed Noah, it looked like Magnussen just cleaned him out in Turn 4. "Welp, the 4 just got shipped. I don't know if it was by us or somebody else, but he's in the wall." "To be honest to you, it looked like it was us."

Signs we should've seen Brad Keselowski leaving RFK Racing coming: At Chicagoland, he had a lot to say about the state of OEM dynamics in NASCAR and how Toyota had created two "A" organizations, as opposed to having an "A, B, C" pecking order. "The challenge that I see is, will the other two OEMs actually kind of react to that? I haven't seen that at the moment. I think RFK is doing all the things it needs to do to position itself to be successful if that were to happen - Particularly in the Ford camp. But at this point, we have not seen the level of collaboration at Ford that we see at Toyota, and it creates challenges for the program." "I think if you're gonna beat Toyota, you have to have at least two elite organizations collaborating at very, very high levels and sharing the elite resources that are specific to the OEM. And I only see Toyota doing that right now." tl;dr Keselowski has said some things to suggest that he's been dissatisfied with Ford's level of support for RFK

Kyle Larson shared that the Busch family expressed their appreciation for the "Tiny Kyle" namerail in last week's Coke 600, and also that it got a good laugh out of Brexton. His wife Katelyn has been keeping in contact with Samantha Busch who shared that with them. Kyle said that he put plans in place last Saturday to put Tiny Kyle - what Kyle called him and also what Brexton calls him - on his namerail as others started putting Kyle's name or Rowdy on theirs. "I thought with Kyle calling me something different, I thought it would be a cool tribute to put 'Tiny Kyle' on there."

This is what happened on Kyle Busch's radio: Busch was dealing with a loose racecar and couldn't get in the corner with it. Eventually, crew chief Jim Pohlman became frustrated their adjustments weren't working. "What is the frickin' problem now? Is the thing sideways or is it plowing? What the fuck does it look like!?" Spotter Derek Kneeland said it still wasn't getting in the corner and Pohlman snapped again. "Why? I don't get it! We tighten it up and why can't it get in the fuckin' corner!?" "I don't know. I've got a headset on, not a helmet. I don't, I don't know." "We keep tightening it up and we keep going slower!" After Busch's spin and more discussion on how to make the car better, Kneeland spoke directly to Pohlman under caution and told him yelling at each other won't help and they need to keep it together. "You copy?" "Yeah, I copy. It's the same shit every week."
