Thank you DCI KENYA for your action. These culprits have been nabbed by the DCI who will give further details of their action. We are grateful for the continued partnership in securing our County. We've also agreed on decisive action to be taken after investigations into the Toi and Mtindwa fires.

The happenings in the CBD earlier today were most unfortunate. This is not the way to treat Nairobians as we have continually implored our officers to treat Nairobians with Dignity. We have had cordial relations with informal traders for a year but lately there have been unfortunate incidences that seek to sabotage that. We will take disciplinary action. I have ordered the immediate release of all confiscated items, apologized to the traders and personally compensated each of them to the tune of 10,000 shillings each. Even if the traders were operating without the required documentation, including a Medical Certificate from Public Health that every food handler must have for the safety of Nairobians, they did not deserve such treatment and we are dealing with this internally. Poleni sana.

A few people are against our feeding program for nefarious reasons. Resorting to propaganda won’t work. Using children for politics won’t work. The first phase of schools onboarded have been getting their hot meals daily and on time. All head teachers have communication to continue with their arrangements until the county communicates once the next phase begins. Already 80,000 children are enjoying meals at 5bob on the phased implementation. Someone posted a video from Tumaini Primary, no child or teacher in the video just classrooms behind them. Below is the HEADTEACHER of Tumaini, Mrs Millicent Kefa. Sadly, opportunistic premature 2027 aspirants, are so hellbent that this shouldn’t work that they are even considering harming our children. Currently meeting at Asmara Restaurant in Kileleshwa. Let me tell them; Watoi Wadishi, Washibe, Wasome, Wanone. Lazima iWork.

Visited traders affected by fire incidents at Toi Market and later at Umoja 2. Poleni sana to all affected and condolences to the bereaved. Sadly, we lost 4 souls in the Toi inferno. We will support their families during this trying time. For the traders, we will rebuild and help you get back to your feet. Thanks to the first responders and all who tried to help salvage the situation. We had a total of 7 fires across the city last night, and all affected will get support. For those who caused incitement, it is well, nothing will stop us from supporting our people.

This morning we chose action over ceremony — stepping into the kitchen in Muthangari Primary School to prepare a meal for our children as schools reopen for the new term. The Dishi na County programme feeds over 300,000 public school learners across Nairobi. These students are guaranteed a hot, nutritious meal every school day for Ksh5. This is more than food; it is dignity, focus, and opportunity served on a plate, For many children, this meal is the difference between staying in class or dropping out, between concentration and hunger, between hope and despair. As the term begins, Nairobi reaffirms a simple but powerful truth - no child should have to choose between education and an empty stomach.

After investigating the unfortunate incident involving Burundian minor Ndagire Renova whose items were spilt yesterday, I met him and later engaged Burundian Ambassador to Kenya to discuss safeguarding the minor as well as dealing with the child trafficking/hawking & beggar syndicate in the region. The facts of this particular incident are in the statement below.

After a tip off yesterday, these thugs were caught this morning stealing a van full of drugs from one of our facilities. These ones will be an example to the others who have been stealing what’s meant for the people. As we implement our HMIS, we are strengthening vigilance.

#UNGA78 is by great measure one of the most successful multilateral engagements we’ve had in a while. Great gains for Kenya and Nairobi including the #MCC $60Million for Nairobi’s Land use, urban planning and mass transit threshold program. This will be followed by a compact program in the range of $700M and above. Kenya’s place on the global table is secure. Pia hapa New York wanasema Lazima iWork.

Inspected ongoing work along Uhuru Highway, Waiyaki Way and Mombasa road together with CS Davis Chirchir, KENHA and KURA DGs. We have implored upon the contractors to hasten these works to ensure proper walkways and carriageways below and besides the expressway. Westlands roundabout, GM and Bellevue among key areas to be sorted out.
