Today is exactly one month since Borno & Oyo State schoolchildren were kidnapped! ONE WHOLE MONTH, & our children are not back! They are eighty-one in number, including seven teachers. We lost a teacher in a beheading. From public outcry to street protests. Then we move on. Please we shouldn’t forget them. It’s the rainy season in Nigeria, they must be cold. There are mosquitoes, their immune system is not that strong. Then there is acute malnutrition otherwise called kwashiorkor. There are waterborne diseases as well. Diarrhea, malaria, acute malnutrition, etc. The children are dealing with all of these elements. Then there is the human factor — trauma in the form of constant trepidation. My paranoia is justified! They risk becoming child brides. Child marriage is not a thing to sweep under the rug. Who is going to give them the closure they so desperately need? Closure is a psychological support to move on & achieve your life dreams. I’m sure they have a bucket list, goals or things they want to achieve during their lifetime. I’m sure we have engineers, doctors, teachers, nurses, pilots, architects, etc among them. This is their formative years. They shouldn’t miss out on a sheltered life; the promise of a better tomorrow. We shouldn’t forget them! They stay in the bush so that politicians can soirée & party harder. Nigeria is the father that abandoned his children. Please remember them today & say a prayer for them. They remind us that Nigeria is a country of particular concern. This is heartbreaking. This is solidarity. Children are praying for their friends to be rescued. A mother who is a teacher is crying for help. The significance of “May 15” is not lost on us. They are our children dealing with adult problems. They shouldn’t become part of an ongoing statistics. I am only pleading. At this point? Your silence will fail the children. Kids across the nation were roaming the streets getting in fights, holding up vulgar signs, and neglecting their studies completely... to protest ICE? Communists have infiltrated our universities that produce the teachers that are now influencing high schoolers AND middle schoolers to hate America. ICE protestors are violent criminals working to overthrow government agencies and buildings. They put their own lives in danger impeding federal operations, and now they are using CHILDREN to do the same. During the monsoon, children risk their lives crossing broken roads and dangerous rivers just to attend classes. And now it has gone even further. Children are not safe from leopards and bears. Wild animals are entering school areas. Children are no longer just struggling to study. They are running for their lives inside and around schools. Education cannot come at the cost of survival. This is not resilience. This is neglect being normalised.

This docu video released in 2014 is just a brief summary of what the Palestinian children and their families have been suffering during 75 years of illegal occupation by Israel. #BeforeOct7 The Palestinian Children can't go to school without being tear-gassed, beaten or shot by armed violent Israeli settlers or the IDF. IDF is ordered not to protect Palestinians from violent Israeli settlers. The most important order of the IDF is to protect the armed and illegal Israeli settlers. Nighttime intimidation of Palestinian children in #Hebron , the largest Palestinian city in the West Bank (there is no Hamas in the West Bank). This usually happens every night, if the children are not arrested during the intimidation, they are being “mapped.” “Mapping” means waking up the children, putting them against the wall and taking pictures of them. The children who are being “mapped” will be detained in the coming days. All children can be arrested regardless of age or gender. They will then be forcibly taken to the nearest police station for interrogation, during which they will be subjected to verbal and extreme physical abuse. For example an illegal Israeli settler can accuse every Palestinian of absolutely everything and all of these accusations are lies. If the children say that they have thrown a stone or even tried to throw stones, or that they accept the false accusation of the illegal Israeli settlers, they have to give the names of their friends for future arrests or the names of their older brothers or neighbors who supposedly participate in a peaceful protest against the occupation (anyone who participates in a peaceful protest is branded an extreme terrorist) If the children accept the charges against them, they will spend weeks or months in prison. During winter or snowstorms, the IDF cages the children outside to freeze them in these cages. A military court will decide the sentence without the parents being present. If the children decides not to accept the charges against them, they will be detained for months or years, suffering physical or sexual abuse, tied to a wooden cross like Jesus Christ or a slave, and beaten for hours, their families will be intimidated and if any of the parents has a permission to work in Israel (the work place in Israel, literally can be on 50 meters away from their house and on the next side of the street, but going through several security checkpoints) their permission will be denied and they cannot work. During all these months or years, the parents do not receive any permission to visit their children and all telephone conversations are totally prohibited. During this period they are subjected to all types of torture, abuse, intimidation with dogs... In many cases the children don't survive and Israel refuse to return the bodies to the families. Israel is using their organs for donors, or their skin for the largest skin bank in the world, situated in Israel. Sometimes Israel decides to return the bodies of the killed children and they are empty or without skin. Our children deserve classrooms devoted to learning — math, science, reading, writing, history, etc. — not political indoctrination. And this is just part of a larger national issue. Watch the video below to see what I’m talking about. As a father of an educator, I know this is not who our teachers are, so why are we letting the union take control? ❗️Let me be blunt: Schools are for education, not agendas. If you feel the same, share this post. Ask your district and school board: 1. Why is the UEA trying to advance racial and social justice work in public schools? 2.
