According to FF7 Remake fans, this is what "95% the same" looks like:

There's a reason no one takes the JRPG community seriously They call Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 "mid", "slop" and "baby's first JRPG" At the same time, they say games that look like they were made for literal babies "peak" Look at these two scenes. See if you can spot the difference: Do you really think the only thing that sets these apart is that one has realistic graphics, and the other doesn't? E33 elevated the genre. But instead of celebrating it, the worst side of the JPRG community tried to tear it down

FF Resonance looks like Octopath Traveller with the “Final Fantasy” label slapped onto it. Cool if you like Octopath. I hope its fans enjoy it o7 But let’s not pretend this is the same thing as Final Fantasy 17 being Turn-Based (with better writing) I made a video about the very thing you’re doing right now (link in Replies ⬇️) I wasn't going to say anything about Final Fantasy Resonance. But since you asked so kindly, maybe I will make a video about the gaslighting around it. Thanks for the suggestion

People accuse me of cherry-picking bad scenes from the FF7 Remake Trilogy In their defense, I love these clips: 1) They are funny & short 2) They show how painfully different these "remakes" are from the original Final Fantasy 7 (1997) But they are also 1 min each. I get it So here are side-by-side comparison videos of every major scene in OG FF7 with FF7R. Links in Replies ⬇️ You will see: -Cid Highwind -Red XIII & Cosmo Canyon -Shinra Building + FF7 Remake Ending -Cloud's Flashback -Dyne (Gold Saucer to Corel Prison) -Nibelheim (Cait Sith Box Throwing!) -The Aeris "Death" scene There's about 15 hours in total To everyone who said I was cherry-picking, I apologise. I hope this clears up the misunderstanding Videos below ⬇️ #FF7Rebirth #FF7Revelation

You're watching “Lord of the Rings: Remake”. They arrive in Rivendell Suddenly a team of elves wearing skintight spandex appears They burst into a choreographed dance to the song "YMCA" by The Village People. It lasts for 3 minutes Then the Council of Elrond begins Technically this is the same story beat as the original But we all know it's not “95% the same” 0:00 Final Fantasy 7 (1997) 1:00 FF7 Rebirth (2024)

I’m not one for awards, but this one truly mattered Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a deeply special game Everything it needs to be good at, it excels in: Storytelling, Gameplay, Music, Art, Acting, Dialogue and Sound In a world of $100 million+ budgets, it was made for less than $10mil When we were told $70 games would soon be $80, it sold for $50 I grew up in the Sakaguchi Era of Final Fantasy. In recent years, I had given up on ever seeing a game that could hit like those classics again. I’m glad I was wrong Thank you Sandfall for making this masterpiece. For those who come after 🔥 #ClairObscurExpedition33 #Expedition33 #VideoGameAwards

I don't think Final Fantasy 7 (1997) has a "Bad Ending" It shows Red XIII alive. If he survived when Holy & The Lifestream destroyed Meteor, then the rest of the party probably did, too. We can assume they lived in peace until the end of their days Midgar is overgrown by vegetation. Did humans go extinct? You start to wonder Then the FF7 logo hits the screen. You hear the sound of children's laughter From this Sound & Imagery, you can imply that humanity survived - but it now lives in harmony with nature. Like The Ancients did Because even without Sephiroth & Jenova, Shinra was still killing the planet. Humanity's dependence on Mako energy alone would have killed Earth This is storytelling from a time when writers didn't spell everything out. You could trust the audience to think about the clues given, and reach their own conclusion Is this a hippy message? Sure, but I think it's fine in this context. Caring about the environment doesn't have to be political. Respect for nature is older & deeper than that

HUGE SCIENTIFIC BREAKTHROUGH IN FF7 SOCIOLOGY: There's a miscommunication between fans around Red XIII's voice change in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. To a Normal Person, this voice sounds cringe. To an Anime Person, this voice sounds normal. When Normal People say they hate Red's uwu voice, Anime People interpret this as them not knowing that Red is young for his species. This is wrong. Everyone knows this major plot point about Red XIII. The complaint is not that he is a teen for his species; the complaint is that his "real" voice is embarrassing to listen to. I hope that clears things up. More FF7 lectures to come! #FF7 #FF7Rebirth #FinalFantasy7

The last thing that should have ever influenced FF7 Remake is Final Fantasy X2 That game marked the sharp decline in the series' quality & storytelling. It began the Dark Ages of Final Fantasy (from which it never recovered) FF7 had its own identity. It didn't need to be mashed with FFX2 #FF7 #FF7Rebirth #FinalFantasy7

There is an attempt to rebrand Final Fantasy XVI like it's some misunderstood masterpiece. It's not. Here's why: 1) Its combat is insulting to OG FF fans: -It sends the message: "You don't matter anymore. We want a different audience. We still want your money though, so we called it Final Fantasy" 2) Its story is a bloated mess: -You could cut the entire the Desert segment, and nothing of value would be lost -There is a Main Quest where Clive goes to the shops to buy garlic. I am not making this up -It plays like an MMO, full of low-stakes quests to pad out Subscription Time. This makes no sense, because you can only buy the game once 3) It wastes its best character 1/3rd into the story: -No one cares that this was for "Clive's development". All it did was the develop the story into a more boring one -To add insult to injury, the game then slaps you with "5 Years Later..." 4) Its idea of "mature writing" is to drop the F bomb every 30 seconds: -Swearing is fine when a script is well-written. But FF16 tries too hard to prove that Final Fantasy can be "badass". As a result, it reads like teen fan fiction It's not a "misunderstood masterpiece" - it's just not that good. It has some strong spectacle (Titan & Bahamut boss fights), but these moments are drowned in an ocean of boring scenes. There's a reason it only sold 22,000 copies on Xbox in its first week. There's a reason it has not 1, but 2 DLCs - and nobody knows or cares At the end of the day, the only crowd it appeals to are the people who will buy literally anything with the "Final Fantasy" name on it It will not stand the test of time. It already hasn't #FF16 #FinalFantasy #FFXVI
