NONE OF THE WORLD CUP MATCHES IN TORONTO ARE SOLD OUT YET. Toronto is spending $380 million to host 6 World Cup matches. THAT'S $63M PER GAME!! Tickets start around $1,300. And economists are warning the net economic impact may be close to zero because many tourists would have visited Toronto anyway. So where exactly is this economic boom everyone keeps talking about?

This Pearson Airport story somehow keeps getting worse. W5 literally walked in from the street into the baggage pickup area and showed how easy it would allegedly be to grab a “drug bag” and leave. They also observed workers entering without pass scans and random people using exit doors. And this is at Canada’s busiest airport.

WAIT… WHAT? 🇨🇦 CTV says innocent Canadians are allegedly having their luggage tags swapped at Pearson Airport… then unknowingly flying suitcases filled with drugs to countries where trafficking can carry the DEATH PENALTY. One woman was detained for 7 hours after border agents found 45 lbs of meth inside a suitcase tagged with her name. RCMP has already arrested multiple Pearson baggage/ramp workers connected to tag switching.

W5 investigation says organized crime groups allegedly infiltrated Pearson Airport by paying off corrupt workers to move drugs through Canada’s busiest airport. A whistleblower even claimed workers joke you could “walk out with a cruise missile and nobody would stop you.” Meanwhile passengers go through intense screening… while insiders allegedly move freely behind the scenes. 👀

I was saying this back in February. Now the Parliamentary Budget Officer is confirming it. Canada is expected to spend over $1 BILLION to host 13 World Cup matches. That’s more than $82 million per game. Officials claim tourism and economic activity will justify the cost. Okay then. Where’s the full cost benefit analysis? Where’s the final net revenue projection after security, infrastructure, tax exemptions, and overruns? At a time of rising debt, strained hospitals, weak per capita growth, and high youth unemployment, taxpayers deserve more than “trust us.”

Canadians say airlines refuse to take responsibility after luggage tag switching allegedly led to them being falsely accused of drug trafficking overseas. Some spent days or weeks in foreign jails. Others were left with tens of thousands in legal bills. This is outrageous!

🚨 BREAKING: A CTV investigation says thousands of airport workers with security concerns were STILL granted clearance at Canada’s major airports. One Pearson employee accused in the $20M gold heist was reportedly flagged in multiple drug investigations dating back years… yet allegedly kept both his job and airport security access until 2023. A retired RCMP officer says employees connected to organized crime were repeatedly flagged to Transport Canada and still kept restricted access cards. Pearson Airport is sounding more and more like an organized crime playground. 👀

At the beginning of May, someone told me affluent pockets of Burlington were starting to organize over violent home invasions and targeted car thefts. Tonight, it turned into a packed community meeting in Roseland. Residents say they’re scared. Some are now hiring private security patrols. Police and city officials were called in to answer questions. One resident: “People are being caught, arrested… and turned loose again.” When communities like Burlington start mobilizing like this…you know the concern is becoming real.

Pearson Airport is basically an underground city with 30km of conveyor belts and more than 50,000 employees. Now former airport intelligence investigators and police sources are alleging organized crime groups are exploiting insider access to move drugs through Canada’s biggest airport. This clip is honestly insane.

HIGHER 🇨🇦 EDUCATION HAS AN AI PROBLEM. A Western University professor alleges the majority of students in his third-year healthcare law course cheated on their final exam using AI. 55% scored above 90%. 8% got perfect on the multiple choice. A tech analyst warned universities need to figure this out FAST because if employers and the public stop trusting the integrity of degrees, the value of those degrees collapses. Students are now openly saying you’re at a disadvantage if you DON’T use AI. The value of degrees is about to get seriously questioned.

A CTV investigation says CORRUPT AIRPORT WORKERS at Pearson are allegedly removing passengers’ luggage tags and attaching them to suitcases filled with drugs. At least 17 innocent travellers have reportedly been detained around the world because THEIR name was attached to narcotics. And investigators say those are only the cases that got caught. 👀

Brampton families should not have to live like this. At 5:44 a.m. on Friday, April 10, in Brampton’s southwest area, a homeowner pulled into their driveway, parked in the garage, and within seconds suspects rushed the property during the garage-close window. Threats screamed. Panic inside the home. Family terrified. This wasn’t downtown chaos. This was a quiet residential neighborhood. Criminals are getting bolder, faster, and more organized. They know routines. They watch patterns. They strike in seconds. People work their whole lives for a home… now some are scared just pulling into their own driveway. Enough is enough. Public safety has to come first.

🚨 ANOTHER violent home invasion in the GTA. This time in Mississauga near Highway 401 & Mavis. Police say multiple suspects forced their way into a home in the middle of the night, stabbed the homeowner, and pulled a firearm during the altercation. At what point do we admit this is becoming a repeated pattern across the GTA? Every few days it’s another break-in. Another family waking up to chaos. Another “isolated incident.” People are spending millions to live in neighborhoods where they now fear someone kicking their door in at 2AM.

PRE-CON CONDO WIPEOUT IN TORONTO. You’re not looking at a “market slowdown” anymore. You’re looking at people getting financially wiped out. One buyer planned to pass this condo down to his kids one day. Now he’s walking away from his entire life savings. Locked in at $800K. Appraised at $650K. Bank won’t cover the gap and just like that… the deal collapses. Down payment? Gone. Future for his family? Gone. It’s happening daily. This is how a housing market breaks.

🇨🇦 is sleepwalking into a completely different country. Grocery stores now locking up meat. Employees wearing body cameras. Organized retail theft rings operating across 🇨🇦. Billions being lost every year. People used to joke about this happening elsewhere. Now it’s happening in Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver and beyond.

🇨🇦 keeps asking why Gen Z founders are leaving. A Gen Z startup built a 3,000-person tech community and hit 1M+ impressions in 60 days and still left 🇨🇦. Their reasons were blunt: visa pathways don’t work for early-stage founders, PR scoring keeps rising, startup visas take years, and fintech founders are told the infrastructure to scale isn’t here. The wild part: she claims “83% of grads just head straight to San Francisco or New York.” The direction is obvious: founders go where building is actually possible.

An Ottawa mother says she and her children have spent weeks living in a tent in the woods because they couldn't find housing they could afford. Ottawa has spent millions on housing and homelessness programs. The wait list is now roughly 16,000 households. So where is the system breaking down?

🚨 CANADA'S BIGGEST BANK just got put on recession watch. Royal Bank of Canada is being watched closely for one number next earnings season: loan loss provisions. That’s money banks set aside when they believe borrowers may soon struggle to pay mortgages, credit cards, or loans. Why it matters now: 🔹 Mortgage renewals are hitting at much higher rates than 2021 🔹 Household debt remains heavy 🔹 Unemployment is rising 🔹 Consumers are already squeezed by groceries and bills If provisions stay elevated or climb again, it could be another warning sign that Canada’s slowdown is getting real. The stress often shows up in bank earnings before it shows up everywhere else.
