This Pearson Airport story somehow keeps getting worse. W5 literally walked in from the street into the baggage pickup area and showed how easy it would allegedly be to grab a “drug bag” and leave. They also observed workers entering without pass scans and random people using exit doors. And this is at Canada’s busiest airport.

WAIT… WHAT? 🇨🇦 CTV says innocent Canadians are allegedly having their luggage tags swapped at Pearson Airport… then unknowingly flying suitcases filled with drugs to countries where trafficking can carry the DEATH PENALTY. One woman was detained for 7 hours after border agents found 45 lbs of meth inside a suitcase tagged with her name. RCMP has already arrested multiple Pearson baggage/ramp workers connected to tag switching.

I was saying this back in February. Now the Parliamentary Budget Officer is confirming it. Canada is expected to spend over $1 BILLION to host 13 World Cup matches. That’s more than $82 million per game. Officials claim tourism and economic activity will justify the cost. Okay then. Where’s the full cost benefit analysis? Where’s the final net revenue projection after security, infrastructure, tax exemptions, and overruns? At a time of rising debt, strained hospitals, weak per capita growth, and high youth unemployment, taxpayers deserve more than “trust us.”

Their reasons were blunt: visa pathways don’t work for early-stage founders, PR scoring keeps rising, startup visas take years, and fintech founders are told the infrastructure to scale isn’t here. The wild part: she claims “83% of grads just head straight to San Francisco or New York.” The direction is obvious: founders go where building is actually possible.

PRE-CON CONDO WIPEOUT IN TORONTO. You’re not looking at a “market slowdown” anymore. You’re looking at people getting financially wiped out.
