Seeing Ardbert finally be able to meet his companions again with a clean axe and no beard is such a beautiful ending to base Shadowbringers. After a century of solitude he can finally rest and find peace

I love how the moment someone appears in this questline they get hit by the Manderville-beam and instantly become stupid

I'm always a big fan of when games poke fun at what players keep in their inventory. Because in-world a bag filled with hundreds of food items, gear, and monster materials would be a nightmare lmao

Emet-Selch's animations and voice acting are so good lmao. It's kind of crazy how in a game with dozens of already great VAs he kind of just outshines everyone else

Your allies having arrived in the First earlier and having changed over the years is such a fun setup for an expansion. Yshtola having to worry mainly about sin eaters for so long that she at first doesnt even recognize you is heartbreaking and tells so much about their struggles

Final Fantasy 14 is a game filled with amazing voice actors but goddamn is Emet's VA just on another level entirely. Just absolutely insane talent

I'm so SO glad they decided to make an Ascian one of the main characters of this expansion. Getting a lore drop like this is much more satisfying when it isn't part of an evil monologue or something like that. I'm starting to really like Emet-Selch (not that I trust him)

Steel Haze Ortus was such a fun fight. Giving Rusty multiple heals just like you makes it feel like fighting a true equal and the pulse armor revival feels straight out of a mecha anime Alba's design and the music really make it feel like the desperate last stand of a protagonist
