Ignore the ugly UI for now, but one thing I am pretty proud of: Pro features are shown in an info sheet, and once you hit Hide, it disappears forever. No constant reminders, no clutter, and no stuff hanging around that you can’t use unless you pay.

On the wrist today is my favorite Rolex killer: the Grand Seiko Snowflake (SBGA211). The dial is absolutely sublime and Zaratsu polished titanium makes it impossibly light. The Spring Drive movement uses magnetic braking to create the smoothest “sweep” of any watch.

Rivian’s Halloween update is so well done. It doesn’t just work when “parked,” but it changes the entire UI for the whole month (if you fancy). Fun!

Open source software is so cool. This is my Rivian R1S being autonomously driven by the Comma 3X—a dashboard mounted device that hijacks the signal to my car’s autonomy computer and inserts its own (much more capable) inputs. The software is free. And getting better daily.

Words cannot describe how much I hate the Samsung Frame Pro TV. It is the biggest pile of garbage I have purchased in years and I will literally stop buying Samsung products because I have zero confidence in their ability to do literally anything correctly.

I HAVE AN UPDATE! Rivian’s manual LIED! It is both faster (and slower!) than Rivian stated. Not as dire as I was led to believe (by again, the owner’s manual), but still not great in 2026! And not an excuse for no 12V in-cabin.
