Starlab is designed to enable advanced biomedical breakthroughs. Its 8-meter diameter habitat, and approximately 400 cubic meters of pressurized volume, allows Starlab to support 100% of the International Space Station’s research payload capacity. The internal payload lab includes 13 payload platforms, with a total capacity of 130 MDLEs, a portion of which will be used for support facilities, including a glovebox, cold stowage, optical bench and workbench. Greater capacity enables broader access for researchers studying treatments for cancer, Alzheimer's, diabetes and other complex conditions. And Starlab's on-orbit science park can support everything from 3D cell growth and accelerated disease modeling to precision manufacturing of biomedical implants and devices.

2025 marked a major step forward for Starlab Space! From advancing our design and technology to strengthening partnerships across the global space community, each milestone moved us closer to a full capability commercial space station in low Earth orbit. We’re proud of what we built together this year, and even more excited for what’s ahead.
