UPDATE LA Helicopter Crash: NBC4 LA has confirmed it was their NewsChopper4 that crashed today in Chatsworth near Los Angeles while covering a deadly metro bus crash that occurred just moments prior. I’ve received several unverified reports that one of those onboard may have been this beautiful woman, Eliana Moreno, who is the NBC4 news chopper reporter and photographer. UPDATE: Figured out what the MASSIVE police response I filmed last night in Downtown Los Angeles was about… VERY grateful I didn’t go outside at the time because it ended too close to where I was and in an area with thousands of pedestrians exiting an event at Crypto Arena. Not to mention hundreds of locals out with their children and walking their dogs. “Two suspects were detained after a high-speed chase ended in downtown LA. The chase began on the westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway for an apparent HOV lane violation. ➡️ SPEEDS reached OVER 100 mph on the 10 Freeway from Azusa, according to CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig. The gray SUV was seen driving on the 101 Freeway, on surface streets around Glendale Boulevard, and eventually got back onto the 101 south heading to the 110 Freeway. ➡️ SPEEDS REACHED UP TO 125 mph. The suspects drove through Echo Park, Westlake, and downtown LA where they eventually lost police. ➡️ The suspects PARKED their car at a building near 12th Street and Pembroke Lane and FLED ON FOOT. Two people exited the car and ran towards a high-rise building. We would be remiss to have conversations about Los Angeles street cart food vendors without informing the public as to the VAST quantity we are dealing with in LA right now. I’ve lived in LA for years and even I was SHOCKED recently at how much they’ve exploded all over the city. In this short video I encounter DOZENS of different street vendors driving from DTLA to Echo Park on Sunset Blvd (left side) in under ONE minute. And this isn’t the exception, it’s the rule all over LA. The question of whether they are putting restaurants (who can’t compete with the costly permit and licensing requirements for brick & mortar) out of business isn’t a question, it’s a fact. The question of whether the street carts are all currently complying with city code for food preparation, handling and sanitation also isn’t a question, the vast majority are not. Anyone who walks by can see that with their own eyes. In my mind, it’s simple. Enforce the law equally for all, or remove the law. Cc Chef Andrew Gruel
