It’s said that a lie can get around the world before the truth has a chance to put its pants on. This clip is a really good reminder that the job of defending Canadian oil and gas never stops. Pierre does a masterful job of dispelling lies that have been told about Canada’s oil sands. Canadian energy, specifically from the oil sands and Fort Mac, is ethical and adheres to world-class safety and environmental standards. Our oil and gas displaces far worse forms of energy, from far worse countries, to give Canadians a far better standard of living. All we need to do is tell the truth and correct falsehoods when we hear them.

I’ve been going after the CBC this week for taking nearly $80,000 from fancy consultants for coaching. But maybe I should show an example of just how crazy things get in committee. Here is Pierre asking a simple question: Where does the money come from? Spoiler: they could have just said “the taxpayer.” Look at your watch. If it’s before noon, you’re still working for the government today. You send a lot of taxes to Ottawa. The absolute least we can do is show you some respect.

I caught CBC red-handed. I found they were spending nearly $80,000 on coaching for CBC executives to show up to committee and NOT answer direct questions with direct answers. If you want a good example of the difference between Conservatives and Liberals, here it is. The Liberals never even thought about how this is a waste of money, and Conservatives can’t understand how the government could be so wasteful.

Because of shady backroom dealings, the Liberals now have the power to close down Parliamentary Committees. It’s an abuse of power, it’s undemocratic, and no one voted for this. Committees are where we can investigate government abuse, and believe me, there is a massive amount of it. They're also where we can order reports and amend legislation. Now that’s all gone. We need to talk about this one because I think it’s a massive danger to our democracy.

This convention is special because it’s an opportunity to reaffirm our support for Pierre as the leader of our party. This party has more support than any conservative party in Canadian history. We are more united than we have been in decades. In the leadership review, I am voting YES to keep Pierre as our leader. I hope you’re with me.

Mark Carney is closing agriculture research centres and is instead giving millions to gender-neutral rice overseas. This was the ONE program that farmers actually want and use… and the Liberals are cutting it. If you want to save money, put me on a special panel and I’ll find you the savings. This is ridiculous.

Flip-flop Carney 🩴 Gophers might seem like a harmless nuisance, but if you’re a farmer, they’re a million-dollar problem. They destroy crops and multiply without end. That costs all of us, but it hurts farmers the most. The only tool we have to control these pests is strychnine, and the Liberals have banned it. Last fall, I asked the minister for a straight yes-or-no answer on strychnine use. He said, clear as day, that he would grant farmers an exemption to the prohibition. Now? Classic Liberal flip-flop. They’re saying no. The clock is ticking. This is a multimillion-dollar problem with a simple solution. Give farmers what they need!
