An eventful first day at Nabanna as the Chief Minister of West Bengal. Today, we transformed promises into action. Chaired the first Cabinet Meeting and took 6 landmark decisions to reclaim the glory of our State:- 1) Ayushman Bharat: Finally, the people of West Bengal will receive the benefits of the Hon'ble PM’s flagship health care scheme. 2) Securing Borders: Ensured the immediate transfer of land to the BSF for Border Fencing, which is to be completed within 45 days. 3) Empowering Youth: As promised in the Manifesto, increased the age limit for State Government job seekers by 5 years to support those who lost precious time during the previous regime. 4) Re-established the Constitutional Modalities: Officially implemented the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and gave the green light for the Census to ensure proper representation. 5) Justice for Martyrs: Taken steps for the fulfillment of commitment towards the well-being of the 321 families who lost their loved ones while standing for democracy in West Bengal. 6) Removing obstruction for the implementation of Central Government Schemes - Paving way for smooth implementation of Central Government Schemes like PM Vishwakarma, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, PM Ujjwala 3 etc... From allocating portfolios to my esteemed colleagues Shri Dilip Ghosh (Hindu Nationalist), Smt. Agnimitra Paul BJP, Shri Nisith Pramanik, Shri Ashok Kirtania, Shri Khudiram Tudu to meeting with top Bureaucrats and Administrative Officials, the message is clear - this is a Government "Of the People, By the People, For the People," not For the Party, unlike how the previous Govt operated. Kudos to the West Bengal Police for a Major Breakthrough. On precise intelligence inputs, the Special Task Force (STF) conducted extensive raids across multiple locations near Sarberia Bazaar in Kumrakhali, Basanti, and Sandeshkhali areas. Forces have successfully seized a massive cache of illegal firearms and ammunition hidden away to disrupt peace. I highly appreciate the prompt actions and exemplary coordination of the DGP; West Bengal Police, the STF Team and Basirhat Police District Personnel for this successful operation. For years under the previous regime, such illegal weapons were stockpiled and used ruthlessly to terrorize common citizens. This culture of violence claimed the precious lives of numerous opposition party workers, particularly dedicated BJP Karyakartas, who stood up against tyranny. Those dark days are over. Our Government remains unconditionally committed to restoring Law and Order. We will continue to track down, unearth, and recover every single piece of illegal firearm across the length and breadth of West Bengal. Today, I visited the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) headquarters for my first official programme since assuming office as Chief Minister. We officially launched the Swachhata initiative, a mega city-wide cleanliness drive to ensure our city shines bright ahead of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s upcoming visit for International Yoga Day next week. During my interaction with the KMC Officials, I addressed the current Administrative transition. Following the recent impasse, the State Government stepped in swiftly to ensure that essential emergency civic services remain uninterrupted. While an Administrator is temporarily overseeing operations to prevent any deadlock, I assured the people of Kolkata that Democracy will be restored soon. With the rainy season approaching, I have also instructed Officials to review monsoon preparedness and remain fully geared up to tackle waterlogging and keep the city safe and prepared.

Today, I visited the ongoing 'Jan Kalyan Shivir' at Falta, South 24 Parganas. Seeing the massive public response and to ensure that eligible citizens can avail the benefits of the Central & State Government Schemes, we have decided to extend the Jan Kalyan Shivirs by an extra day. The camps will now continue until June 18th, 2026. I urge everyone to visit their nearest camps to access on-the-spot registration for all major Central and State welfare schemes. Falta holds a special place in our vision for a prosperous West Bengal. In line with the commitments we made during the reelection campaign, I have announced a few major infrastructure and social development projects for Falta today; such as Falta Women's College, 100-Bed Falta Rural Hospital, dedicated Women’s Help Desk, new Fire Brigade Station etc. Our Government doesn't just make promises, we will deliver them with absolute transparency and speed. A Historic Day for West Bengal’s Infrastructure & Growth. Today, I had a highly productive and landmark meeting with the Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways; Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji, right here at Nabanna. Our discussions centered entirely on accelerating the development of Railway Infrastructure in West Bengal. I am absolutely delighted to share that our joint efforts have yielded immediate results, with a flurry of long-awaited and crucial Railway Projects receiving an official GREEN SIGNAL 🟢 which will significantly boost sub-urban and main-line connectivity across North and South Bengal, speed up pending track related works. Modernization of key stations under the Amrit Bharat Scheme will provide world-class amenities to commuters. Overall these works involving thousands of crores of funds would create massive local employment opportunities and give a significant push to our State's economy. SHAMEFUL ! The 'Compromised Bureaucracy' of Mamata Banerjee reaches a new low. Is there any Constitutional Propriety left in West Bengal, or not? The visual evidence is clear, Diganta Bagchi, a sitting Member of the West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC), was seen yesterday sharing the stage at a political program for the TMC candidate in Bhabanipur. The WBPSC is a Constitutional body tasked with the impartial recruitment of the State’s future Officers. How can the youth of Bengal expect fairness when the very people who are supposed to be 'Hon’ble Members' of the Commission are seen acting as 'Hon’ble Cadres' of the ruling party? This is a BLATANT VIOLATION of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), as no official post holder should be endorsing a political party during an election process. Neutrality is the bedrock of public service, by participating in a political rally, Mr. Bagchi has compromised the integrity of his Office. Organised by the Government of West Bengal from 15th to 17th June 2026, these camps across West Bengal, from the Hills to the Coastal areas, are serving as a convergent & single-window outreach initiative to facilitate intended beneficiaries enroll their names in various Central & State Government Schemes. The New State Government is fully committed to developing the Hilly areas of North Bengal, and would ensure that the benefits of progress and development reaches the People of this region in a timely and effective manner.

Today I inaugurated the “Jan Kalyan Shivir” (জনকল্যাণ শিবির) at Reyapara, Nandigram. The Government of West Bengal have organised “Jan Kalyan Shivirs” across West Bengal from 15th to 17th June 2026 as a convergent, single-window outreach programme to bridge the gap between various Central & State Government Schemes and their intended beneficiaries. Mamata Banerjee has sent her TMC goons to the apolitical Protest Rally near RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. She thinks that she is the most shrewd person in the whole world and people won't be able to figure out the cunning plan that her goons appearing as protestors would mix with the crowd and carry out vandalism inside the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. They were given safe passage by the Police, who either ran away or looked the other way so that these lumpens would enter the hospital premises and destroy areas containing crucial evidence so that it doesn't get picked up by the CBI. As they were dumb TMC hooligans they couldn't execute the plan well and revealed their identity when they vandalised the Dharna Manch of the Resident Doctors, PGTs & Internees. Why would someone who has come to show solidarity would destroy the Epicenter of the Protests? Lastly the protests happened peacefully across the State, why violence erupted at RG Kar only? @BengalGovernor should immediately intervene. Central Bureau of Investigation (India) should take note of the brazen attempt by TMC to destroy evidence.

Tonight approximately around 8:20 PM, while I was returning from Purulia, at Chandrakona Road; Paschim Medinipur district, I was viciously attacked by TMC goons. I am deeply anguished to share a grave injustice unfolding in Kolkata, orchestrated by the Mamata Banerjee led administration. The Kolkata Police, acting as "Goondas in Uniform," have stooped to a new low by targeting the innocent family members of Shri Rakesh Kumar Singh. His son Shivam Singh (25) was arrested on baseless grounds of “providing logistical support” in a 'crime'. This arrest reeks of political vendetta, as the Police, unable to locate his father, have resorted to harassing his family. I met Smt. Seema Devi Singh, her son Subham Singh (28) and daughter Simran Singh (26) at their residence, where they shared their ordeal of being subjected to Police brutality, intimidation, and torture. This is a shameful abuse of power, targeting innocent family members. Under which law in India can the Police arrest family members as proxies for an accused? The answer is clear: NO LAW permits such illegal, unconstitutional, and immoral actions. The Indian Constitution, particularly Article 21, protects the personal liberty and dignity of every citizen. Arresting or torturing family members to coerce an accused violates fundamental rights and Supreme Court guidelines. Such actions are not only unlawful but a blatant misuse of authority by the Kolkata Police, acting at the behest of Mamata Banerjee to suppress dissent. We will not remain silent. The BJP stands firmly with the innocent family members and will pursue this matter in Court to ensure that the culpable Police personnel face strict punishment for their heinous actions. Mamata Banerjee’s attempts to intimidate our workers through such cowardly tactics will only strengthen our resolve to fight for justice and truth.
