কলকাতার চোরবাগানে মর্মান্তিক দুর্ঘটনায় প্রাণ হারিয়েছেন আমার ১৯ জন সহনাগরিক। আজ তাঁদের মধ্যে দক্ষিণ ২৪ পরগনার বাকরাহাটের স্নেহা ভাণ্ডারী এবং হাওড়ার সালকিয়ার বিকাশ ভট্টাচার্যের বাসভবনে উপস্থিত হয়েছিলাম। তাঁদের প্রতিকৃতিতে পুষ্পার্ঘ্য অর্পণ করে শ্রদ্ধার্ঘ্য নিবেদন করলাম। এই দুঃসময়ে পরিবারগুলির পাশে দাঁড়ানো আমাদের কর্তব্য। তাদের এই অপূরণীয় ক্ষতির কোনো ক্ষতিপূরণ হয়না তবু পরিবারের প্রতি সরকারের দায়িত্ববোধ থেকেই আজ সরকারের পক্ষ থেকে উপস্থিত হয়ে আর্থিক সহায়তা তুলে দিয়ে সর্বতোভাবে তাঁদের পাশে থাকার অঙ্গীকার করেছি।

Earlier today, I traveled from Bagdogra Airport en route to Kalimpong to attend scheduled programs and Administrative review meetings. Unfortunately, due to dense cloud cover and poor visibility it was unsafe to attempt a landing and the helicopter had to return to Bagdogra Airport.
