Last night, Penn State forward Katelyn Roberts became the first black woman drafted by the PWHL’s New York Sirens. “Growing up, I've only seen a few black players on both the men's and the women's side, so being in that small number is huge to me, and I don't take it lightly.”

This moment postgame from Fordham HC Keith Urgo is a perfect example of why all his players speak so highly of him. “I want to apologize to the seniors. We had enough talent to be really successful this year, and I failed them…I feel bad that they didn’t get to experience what we believed we could’ve. That’s on me — I didn’t do a good enough job with this team.” It’s no secret this season didn’t go the way they hoped, and there are adjustments this staff needs to make. But that’s the accountability I want to see if I’m a Fordham fan. My two cents — you can make changes to your system/gameplan. But it’s hard to replicate the passion and commitment that Keith Urgo has for this program.
