Drawing you attention to the kick. This is what happened inside #Kolkata #SRFTI this afternoon. #RSS program was on inside the hall, attended mostly by outsiders. Resident students objected. It’s then when someone part of the event KICKED a student. Is this the spark for clashes?

Over 3kg gold ornaments recovered by Bidhannagar police from the residence of a good friend of arrested #TMC leader Sabyasachi Dutta. That good friend too is from TMC, happens to be a Zila Parishad member in Nadia. Reminds us of now suspended TMC leader Partha Chatterjee. Over 50 crore cash was recovered from his good friend’s residence that eventually led to his arrest in connection with SSC scam in 2022. Sabyasachi Dutta was the former mayor of Bidhannagar corporation. He switched sides and joined #BJP ahead of 2021 elections. Later returned to TMC in 2021. Arrested by police on charges of extortion on June 8, a month after BJP came to power in #Bengal in 2026

That’s Sr Adv Naidu representing #ElectionCommissionOfIndia & ECI is proposing to CJI to publish #Bengal #SIR supplementary lists on a daily basis Imagine, the first supplementary list came out at midnight and even after 19 hours we can’t access it - people don’t know who all are deleted and how many made it to the final voter list But before SC - ECI vowing to publish sup list daily!!! Had they published data on a regular basis - as & when matters were adjudicated - had they published data per 1 lakh people basis - they wouldn’t have to release data of 29 lakh people in one go, as they have done - which is of course a heavier file. But CJI laments it’s only in Bengal that SIR is creating so much noise

What they did to actress Rituparna Sengupta is outright wrong. I don’t support the selective outrage of celebrities, most of them stayed quiet when a JU student was ragged to death, also sexually assaulted, yet at this hour of people’s united fight against rape, no one has the right to hijack the movement. Had the same happened to a Jadavpur University or Presidency student, they would have called it heckling, then why isn’t this called out as heckling? They were singing the other day, that Bangladeshi song “desh ta tomar baper naki”… very good … by that logic this protest too isn’t anyone’s property.

The #Chorbagan #KolkataStampede had killed my #DurgaPuja celebratioans - this has been one of the most difficult feelings I have encountered. Deceased were all dressed up in festive spirits. But this video hurts more. Have never seen Maa Durga being treated like this. Ropes tied around her waist! What a hurtful sight. No rituals before bidding her goodbye, police all around! If they lacked wherewithal then could have simply called fire brigade to melt her down - like it happens at many other places. Who ties rope around the Mother? The incident happened on Saptami which means worshipping this idol had already begun. As a sanatani Hindu I feel ashamed and let down.

#Bengal SIR saga isn’t over - it can’t be over till valid voters are back on the list. Meet Tarun Pal, husband of Namita Pal. Namita Pal is sick and bedridden - and she has been deleted. Thus Tarun Pal has to keep visiting the tribunal even after polls. His Wife’s own brother has been mapped using their parents data but the same 2002 list didn’t suffice for Namita Pal. So Namita Pal’s parents - both father and the mother - whose names are there in 2002 list - was good enough a proof for her brother but not herself. What a JOKE! Elderly people have been the worst victims of this SIR torture by the #ElectionCommissionOfIndia - Every story of suffering from across the country should be told but never forget the unimaginable pain Bengal has suffered in plain sight.

At hospital waiting room, we found this young man. The body was yet to be handed over. He quietly sat there and wept on his own. He lost his girlfriend. No one by his side but a whole bundle of memories that he has to live with for the rest of his life. “Who are you waiting for” we asked and he said - “MY LOVE” As the news broke, he rushed down from Mumbai #AirIndiaCrash #AirIndiaPlaneCrash #Ahmedabad
