That’s #Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari leaving the residence of #TMC MP Shatabdi Roy in #NewDelhi. He was there inside for 48 mins. He held a meeting with Roy and 8 other TMC MPs - namely Khalilur Rehman, Sharmila Sarkar, Abu Taher Khan, Bapi Haldar, Jagadish Basunia, June Malia, Kali Pada Soren and Asit Mal. The question is no longer will they join #BJP? Question is when and what form?

I am at #Baruipur, and one thing is unmistakably clear: the overwhelming anger of the locals is directed not entirely at the administration, but largely at sections of the media. No one said anything against the govt but questioned as why a section of main stream liability media is so touchy and peddling lies or downplaying the incident. People are, as is often the case, upset with the police. But what has truly hurt them is how they believe parts of the media have failed them. Many here say the incident was not reported promptly. When it finally was, they feel some reports reduced the tragedy to "a girl drowned," while others appeared dismissive of the allegations of rape and murder. Their grievance is that instead of amplifying their demand for justice, some channels misrepresented them - tried making it communal. This video captures that sentiment. There is no violence, no road blockade today. Police are managing law and order, armed central forces are there. Protesters are also there in huge number but on the other side of the road. A couple of television channels arrived, and residents gathered to stop them, raising slogans demanding justice. Their message was simple: "We want justice. We want the truth to be heard. Don't portray us as the villains." Yes - those same LIABILITY MEDIA I, too, was stopped initially. But once people realised I was from digital media, I was allowed to report freely, just like several other independent journalists. I was able to speak to residents and even meet the victim's family. Whether one agrees with them or not, one thing is beyond doubt: many people here feel they have been let down by sections of the media when they expected their voices to be heard. Angry people also often fail to understand that most of the times the reporters are not at fault. Their editors are but the wrath is always borne by ground level reporters. #Bengal

At hospital waiting room, we found this young man. The body was yet to be handed over. He quietly sat there and wept on his own. He lost his girlfriend. No one by his side but a whole bundle of memories that he has to live with for the rest of his life. “Who are you waiting for” we asked and he said - “MY LOVE” As the news broke, he rushed down from Mumbai #AirIndiaCrash #AirIndiaPlaneCrash #Ahmedabad

This is how INJUSTICE looks like! He is Ranjit Chitrakar, a #Muslim artist who paints #Hindu deities, sings songs on #Ramayan - one of the few 100s left who have kept the art of Pat Chitra alive in #Bengal along with the folklore. He received honour from President of #India & #ElectionCommission of India DELETED his daughter and 2 other members from the voter list I urge India to watch the story, not for me but for these people who are yearning for their dignity. All the artists here in this village are Muslims and 99% of them have passports. Since they do shows abroad. And…90% of them have been deleted - mostly women. They now fear as D voters if they will be pushed to other human rights violations. All their lives they have represented India abroad. But today India denied them representation in #Indian democracy? #BJP #Bengal govt brought and passed the OBC amendment bill 2026 reversing changes that were made by the previous #MamataBanerjee govt. The previous bill had included several Muslim communities through executive notifications. That was called flawed by Cal HC in 2024 But the story is different. BJP has absolute numbers to pass the bill. But #TMC isn’t an absolute party today. First the bill got cleared through voice vote But ISF MLA Nausad Siddique demanded Division The Speaker approved it. And then this happened The LoP Ritabrata Banerjee TMC camp looked indecisive as whether to stay back for voting or not. Some of them left. As the rule is the gates were shut before voting. And then suddenly another few LoP TMC camp wanted to walk out. The Speaker rapped them. “What were you waiting for…the door was open for long for anyone to leave. You didn’t leave then but now you wanna leave” The gates were opened again and they left BUT NOT ALL. At least 4 of the rebel TMC MLAs part of the LoP camp stayed back. They are - Bairon Biswas, Mosarraf Hossain, Kajol Seikh and Tauseffur Rehman. These 4 MLAs went and spoke with CM Suvendu Adhikari inside the house. The CM told them to read the bill and then decide. Meanwhile the Mamata Banerjee loyalist TMC MLAs stayed put through the voting and voted against the amendment. The bill eventually received 187 votes in favour 17 in against 6 abstained It’s hard to decode the 17 now. Not all are Mamata loyalists. Around 12 Mamata Banerjee loyalists (approx) were present in the house The 4 rebel TMC MLAs who stayed back are Muslims and hard to say that they stayed back because the camp doesn’t want to come across anti Muslim interests. Because former minister and senior rebel TMC MLA Javed Khan and few other Muslim rebel MLAs walked out along with the LoP. MLA Nausad Siddiqui wanted division for voting on the bill. But some other division also became evident

Lady to Police: Go rape your daughter at home. You all are rapists. Lady asked her toddler son to ask police “what is rape” Lady also asked someone (Sumit) to record the video. Police patiently stood there while she kept on accosting them. Am sure she must have shared the video on her socials already. Look at the face of the innocent child. She is the mother, she knows it best as what’s best for her son.

Shamim Akhter, a professor at Aliah University #Kolkata, did everything the system asked of him. Born and listed in the 2003 Bihar voter rolls. His parents are there in 2003 list and also in 2025 Bihar list. He moved to Kolkata in 2016. Updated his voter ID. Voted in 2019, 2021, 2024. And then he was gone. Post SIR, his name has been deleted from the #Bengal voter list. No warning. No clear reason. Just DELETED. But this is not just about one name. Inside his home, met his wife, bedridden - dependent on an oxygen cylinder for every breath. A family already battling survival is now forced to confront something far more invisible - uncertainty. Akhter broke down, not over politics, but over fear. Fear of systems turning him unrecognisable. Fear of being questioned. Fear of not being seen. “What if I lose my job because i lost my right to vote - how will I take of my wife’s medical expenses” he asked. And then, the blow that makes it harder to ignore - his son, an MBBS student with a birth certificate, has also been deleted. Three lives. One silent fear. The wife is still on the voter list. She is the one who can barely move. And yet, she now says she will go and vote. Under any circumstances. Because her husband and son have been erased, thus she is preparing to show up - not just to vote, but to register their pain before a system that has Deleted their peace A voter ID is not just a document - it is the most basic acknowledgment: you belong. When that disappears, what replaces it is not just inconvenience - it is doubt. #BengalElection2026
