9 hours to see a doctor, 30 hours on a corridor. Acutely confused, dysphagia, elevated WCC. Triaged by a nurse and initially offered oral paracetamol 🤷 Later required MRI, but not available at the weekend. Patient died aged 66! Hey Wes Streeting, much better under your watch!!

Whatever happened to clinical judgement? Surely experienced clinicians don’t need yet another risk assessment form to identify the obvious before it happens. This is just another tick-box exercise to satisfy the upstairs pen pushers and lanyard classes. Instead of common sense!

Can’t get a GP appointment. Granny stuck on a trolley in A&E for 12 hours waiting to be seen. Doctors replaced by non-medically qualified Physician Assistants. Meanwhile, doctors without training jobs are delivering pizzas to make ends meet. What a crazy world!

Now we have a situation where Doctors’ Assistants, unqualified to diagnose, are paid more than actual Doctors. Even with full pay restoration, Doctors would still earn less than these assistants, exposing a ludicrous disparity in the healthcare system’s wage structure!

This doesn’t affect me directly as a consultant, but these new training posts are simply rebadged LED roles. No new jobs, no relief for unemployed juvenile delinquents, and the crisis continues completely untouched. Vote NO. Strike harder!

Dear members of the public, please be honest with your anaesthetist about heavy drinking or recreational drug use. It ensures a safer, smoother anaesthetic. Finding out afterwards that a patient drinks 160 units a week and uses ketamine isn’t nice! 😱
