Whenever people talk about animating horses in Steel Ball Run, I think of what Toei was doing with their Romance of the Three Kingdoms movie trilogy back in the 90's. Absolutely insane levels of production throughout.

With the announcement of the new Evangelion anime, I'd like to take the opportunity to remind everyone you should watch Blue Blazes. Not because it's related, just because it's good!

Refusing to watch magical girl anime like Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Tokyo Mew Mew because they're not masculine enough is certainly... a choice.

Hey, I've seen this one! Just wait for when people start growing digital facial hair that's actually mini civilizations that declare nuclear war on each other, then it gets really bonkers!

It's funny how grounded and realistic Oshii's animated movies are, and then his live action movies are like this

It’s kind of sad how forgotten Yawara! has been among modern anime fans despite how big it was in the 90's. Especially recently with all the discussion about strong female protagonists in anime.

I keep forgetting to actually promote the podcast on here lmao. Anyway, hopefully people haven't memoryholed last season yet, because it was probably one of the best Winter seasons in years. Go check it out because we have a lot of hot takes.

I'm glad this anime was finally able to see the light of day after being stuck behind that guy's desk for 25 years!

A bit late to the whole Frieren discourse and the whole "cutecore" anime figure discourse (I swear it was topical when we recorded this episode), but we had mimiyori😵‍💫 on the latest episode to talk about that and also a bunch of other stuff!
