"Shawn walked up behind me... looking over my head and all of a sudden he goes… 'You feel that?' I went ‘Matter of fact I do." Tammy Sytch (Sunny) on how her secret 9-month affair with Shawn Michaels started backstage in 1996. Tammy reveals that while she and Chris Candido appeared together on TV they were quietly separated during 1996-1997. What began at the entrance curtain turned into a secret romance known only to The Klick and Vince McMahon. Things got so intense that Shawn took her to Jamaica booking a $5,000-a-night honeymoon suite where he had a private guitarist play Elvis while singing "Welcome to My World" to her over dinner. The affair ultimately ended when HBK asked her to move into his new Texas mansion and Tammy turned him down to give her marriage with Chris another shot.

Grayson Waller appeared on Insight with Chris Van Vliet and described his opponents in one word. Tony D’Angelo: Italian. Cruz Montana: TNA good. Austin Theory: The safe option. Johnny Gargano: I’m glad to see Gargano being Gargano again. CM Punk: Rival. The Miz: Generational. Roman Reigns: The goat. Especially right now… he’s as good as you get. Cody Rhodes: QB1. I think that’s the best way to describe him. He is. I’m QB3. Waller also shared a Randy Orton story about hitting a knee and Orton asking “Oh, do I owe you money?” before clarifying he was just messing with him. I wonder what that Aussie word was he mentioned. 😆 Grayson Waller #InsightWithCVV

Dean Malenko gave New Jack ONE rule backstage… “Whatever you do… do not say anything to Vince unless he says something to you." New Jack saw Vince in the hall and immediately ignored it… "I said, 'I'm New Jack. How are you?' And he said, 'I'm Vince McMahon Jr. Fine, nice to meet you.'" Minutes later New Jack checked the lineup board and his name was wiped clean.

Watching Shawn Michaels and Sunny at WWF One Night Only knowing what was happening behind the scenes is crazy. While interviewing HBK about becoming the first WWF Grand Slam Champion Shawn can barely stay in character openly flirting and telling her he’s "feeling awfully randy" on camera. Shawn even weaponized it on TV months later when he famously accused Bret Hart of having "Sunny days" ironically projecting his own affair onto Bret.

“Chris Benoit was replaced by Johnny Nitro for the ECW World Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.” On June 25 at around 12:01 a.m. roughly 14 hours before police found the bodies an anonymous editor added this to Benoit’s Wikipedia page. The IP was traced back to a Matthew Greenberg who lived within blocks of the WWE headquarters in Stamford Connecticut. Below is the actual interrogation of the Greenberg.

Booker T told Chris Van Vliet today that WrestleMania 19 vs Triple H is the only finish in his career he’d change. “There was never any talk about me winning that match. I never went into that match thinking I was winning.” He knew the fans wanted it. “I love those people for it.” Then he got the main event he’d always asked for and didn’t win. “Man, I should have wished I would have won too.” “It’s fictional to them, but it’s real to me. I lost my dad when I was 10 months old, and I lost my mom when I was 14, quit school and got locked up in prison. Then I come out and find myself in the main event at WrestleMania. I think that’s a win.” Came that close to a sixth world title. An office guy told him that night, “Book, you should have won.” I think everyone knows Booker T. Huffman should have had his WrestleMania moment here. #InsightWithCVV

The night after we lost Owen Hart, Steve Austin walked out, cracked a beer, and raised it anyway. No promo. No extra words. Just the rattlesnake paying respect to a guy he had every reason to stay mad at. JR said it best: “One last toast to our friend, Owen Hart. We’ll never forget you, Owen.”

“Dude, I think you guys just eulogized the murderer on TV.” - Christian Former WWE wrestler Simon Dean says he was at Christian’s house in Florida watching the Raw tribute show. After William Regal’s segment where Regal deliberately limited his comments to Benoit as a professional in the ring. He goes on to say this… “Chris Benoit is one of the most vile human beings who’s ever been in the professional wrestling industry.”

“About 5:30 in the morning, I get a text and it was from Chris’ phone. It said ‘The dogs are in the enclosed pool area and the back door is open.’” 30 seconds later the same message comes through from Nancy’s phone. Chavo Guerrero on those final texts from Chris Benoit’s phone.

“I never realized I was stabbed. I never knew it until... 2 Cold Scorpio said, 'Hey man, you're killing dude.' And I had got Arn by the back of the neck and I'm stabbing him everywhere." Wild story from Sid Vicious on the infamous 1993 hotel room fight with Arn Anderson. After a heated debate over pay during a grueling overseas tour, a backstage argument spilled into a bloody, scissors-wielding hotel brawl in Blackburn, England that left both men hospitalized. Wrestling history is truly unmatched.

The night after WrestleMania XIV Triple H declared himself the new leader of D-Generation X saying Shawn “dropped the ball.” He formed the DX Army and immediately brought out the returning Sean Waltman. X-Pac cut one of the most memorable promos of the Monday Night War. “Kevin Nash and Scott Hall would be standing right here with us if they weren’t being held hostage by World Championship Wrestling. And that’s a fact Eric Bischoff… so put that in your pipe and smoke it.” That line got him sued by WCW. In the deposition when asked why he said it he admitted he’d talked to Nash the night before and Nash told him it would be a good idea. When the lawyer asked what “suck it” meant… Waltman simply replied “What do you think it means?”

On Sept 28, 1998 Raw, Owen Hart hit Dan Severn with an inverted piledriver that was supposed to be a work… but he dropped him on his head for real. Severn: “I take the full impact on my head and I feel a bolt of lightning run down my spine and then run down my right leg… Can I feel my fingers? Can I feel my toes?” Owen whispered “squeeze my hand if you’re okay.” Dan didn’t. He wasn’t sure. Once past the curtain, The Beast went right after him. Second time Owen botched that move in a year.

Sami Zayn on Insight with Chris Van Vliet reflecting on the Honorary Uce run and the iconic “Feeling Ucey” moment. “I think what also took it to a different level is when Jey kind of tries to hide, and Roman’s like, ‘no, no, no, no.’ Then it was over, then it was over. Again just a pro’s pro here. Understanding the energy in that room and the delivery to compound that effect was very, very well done, and probably is what cemented it. If it had just ended at the laugh and the whatever, it’s already a very memorable moment. But then the way Roman built up to it, like again, it’s music, right? ‘Ucey?’ That cemented it.” He also said the Bloodline stuff is probably what he’d be best remembered for even 20 years from now if people remember anything about him “the encapsulation of the entire skill set” he’d built over 20+ years. The ridiculousness of him being in the group was part of the appeal from the jump and the week-to-week adaptability especially with Jey is what made it legendary. Sami Zayn #InsightWithCVV

On this day in 2011, Alberto Del Rio became a two-time WWE Champion. Hell in a Cell took place in New Orleans and featured the first-ever Triple Threat Hell in a Cell for the WWE Title. Del Rio pinned CM Punk after Ricardo Rodriguez slid a pipe into the cell. ADR clocked John Cena with it, locked him outside, then laid Punk out and took the three-count. The celebration didn’t last. The cell came up, Cena got back in, and The Miz and R-Truth hoodies on, still raging over the “conspiracy” that got them fired stormed the ring and dropped the cell back down. They wrecked Del Rio, Punk, Cena, refs, and cameramen until New Orleans police cut the lock and cuffed both of them. Triple H still got his shots in on the way. Destiny for Del Rio. Handcuffs for The Miz.

“I’ve trained more in the last week than Mick Foley’s trained in 30 years. While Mick was sleeping and eating cheeseburgers and M&Ms, I was in the gym.” - Hulk Hogan Mick Foley’s response to criticism from Hulk Hogan about his physical condition “It’s an insult and it’s a lie. He’s never wrestled me. If you ask The Rock, Stone Cold, Shawn Michaels if I was in shape when I wrestled them, they’d say I was in deceptively good shape.” “If Hogan had wrestled me he would’ve been saying ‘not so fast and not so hard’ because he didn’t like the contact. The reason I’m out early and he’s still around at 49 is because I put out and gave people their money’s worth. You didn’t have to apologize to your friends for watching a Mick Foley match.” One of the rawest responses ever.
